CleanupUK2022 · 06/06/2022 13:42

About CleanupUK

CleanupUK is a charity that unites volunteers to bring about cleaner, connected, and safer urban and rural communities by tackling the litter problems where they live. Cleaning up and litter-picking are activities which bring people closer together, enable neighbours to meet one another other and help create a greater sense of pride and community in local areas.

About the role

This is a perfect role for someone with a project support, community engagement or marketing background, who wants to broaden their experience of different areas within a charity. This will provide experience of working in a small team, and therefore the successful applicant will have their “fingers in lots of pies” - this will be a great start to your career, or to widen your experience in the charity sector!

CleanupUK’s Operational Team are currently expanding our area of work geographically. We are developing our branding and campaign messaging with the aim of impactfully promoting our offer to external audiences – stimulating, facilitating and fulfilling demand for what we do.

The Marketing Assistant will play a vital role in supporting our busy team to deliver market research alongside campaigns that allow us to work in more areas and be responsive to demand. We would like to increase brand awareness, convey how we can support individuals and groups, promote both local and national partnerships and inform the development of our fundraising strategy.

The post holder will work within the operations team to identify opportunities and research geographical areas. The post holder will also support the production of print, digital marketing communications, and the running of marketing campaigns (alongside CleanupUK’s Social Media Lead). They will oversee and ensure the smooth running of processes that support the promotion and application of CleanupUK’s brand.

That's not even £15 an hour plus tax, NI, sick pay, holiday pay etc. it is £15/ hour self employed which means it is closer to £10 when you factor everything in.

It's shocking that companies think that 'flexible' = can pay a pittance

Hmmm. I work in the charity sector. The full-time salary for this role would be £29,250 - that is def at the higher end of entry level jobs. Also, everyone pays tax!

I looked at a job at a nursery today which was £10.15 per hour! £15 is a definite improvement on that.
