Trans men playing in womens football

I play in a womens football team and was shocked to learn that our opposition team who we played yesterday had a clearly male player! Is this allowed? I know I will be called transphobic for saying this but why should a man be allowed to compete against women, I feel very uncomfortable about this and maybe this will be the only occasion I come across this all season but it just feels fundamentally wrong on so many levels. Is there anything ‘womens only’ left 😂

Ask about their insurance coverage, bluntly, for playing males against women.

Just going to jump in here as this has recently been raised with Basketball Scotland as there is a trans woman playing in U16 woman’s league. When I raised it at club level I was “informed “of inclusion to all. I managed to keep my hair on and strongly advised the need to discuss at a national level as a young person with a penis and balls , unfortunately has resulted in the young woman play a different defence as they are acutely aware of the close proximity of male genitalia.

Just crossed my mind.
In Russia uncle Vlad us calling men up in a draft for the war in Ukraine and as a result vast numbers of fighting age men are heading for the borders to avoid being killed. There are even reports of men breaking their arms to not get sent to basic training.
In the event of this happening here do you think the government would accept the thousands of men suddenly self identifying as women to avoid the call up?
Just a thought.

OP, v interested in what response you get - do update us? 🙏

Again, my comment wasn't to the OP - but to another poster.

My daughter is a biological female and she played on a girls team in a girls league.

I am fully aware that there are plenty of girls teams. Who doesn't know that? Confused

Good luck!

I would hope that if you mention the current changes to the rugby guidelines, they might at least start registering complaints and maybe even advise you when they will do a consultation.

Thanks for the responses everyone, the suggestion of asking the FA about risk assessments is great! I’ve been busy with work but got some time now so working on my complaint…… wish me luck!! I will probably be kicked out of football very soon as I also intend to refuse to play any league game where a biological male is part of the opposition team

And the other poster has clarified her DD is in a girls team. Or was, until having to stop because of transgirls playing and injuring her.

😂😂😂

Please come out from whenever you have been hiding. Men have been muscling in on women's sports for quite a while, under the guise of "feelz like a woman"

Again, my comment wasn't to the OP - but to another poster.

She is in a girls' team but a man/boy who "feels like a woman/girl" has joined the team she is playing against.

My reply wasn't to the OP, but the poster mentioned in the quote....

This is the whole problem with woke culture
We are told we have to accept everyone and everything
Anyone has the right no decide what sex they identify as
If we have to accept that in every other aspect of this persons life he is a woman
Is called by a female name at work
Uses female loos
it has to apply to sport as well
Even if a guy turns up and says he identifies as a woman then he has to be accepted as such
Just after lockdown a male body builder rocked up to a female competition and said he identified as a woman
He won of course and said he was just doing it to show how ridiculous all the self identifying has become
I personally know a guy who was due to be in a box at Ascot
Turned up with no tie a\nd was told at the escalator that "gentleman have to wear a tie"
His response - "how very dare you I identify as a woman"
This is a guy who is a building contractor in his 60;s wearing a suit
The stewards looked at each other - laughed and said - sorry madam carry on up
Personally I think it is nonsense but that is what the wokies want and what we have got because we all have to be oh so liberal
They do not care that for instance a strong man playing football could hurt a female

Following as interested to hear if anyone knows official rules/guidelines on this.

I know my dd can join a boys team but after a certain age it is not considered safe for mixed teams due to physicality of the game.

Which is stupid. There should be an open category that anyone can partake in. And other categories that exclude people who have a competitive advantage like women's, youth, senior and disabled. Women can progress to the top of the sport only by being a referee and that is wrong.

Ask whether a risk assessment has been completed and if there is insurance in place to cover the costs of compensation if anyone is injured.

The risk assessment should also cover any communal changing facilities that would previously have been single sex and will now have been changed to mixed sex. Also whether the biological females have been consulted on the change of facilities and team category from single to mixed sex.

I was in a pub with about 25 people and this subject came up. All of them thought a trans woman was a woman who wanted to be a man - all of them!

Yes not only is it hugely unfair, it's a safety risk for any women playing with a male person.

Kick up hell, OP.

It’s disgraceful!! I feel a bit stupid if I’m honest to not have realised the extent of this issue.

Don't feel stupid, it was a deliberate ploy to go under the radar. There's a thread ongoing atm regarding men (of various sorts) being in womens changing rooms in shops. You do realise these "men" could be using the same sport changing rooms too...while your daughters are naked. Read up about lia the USA champion swimmer forcing the other women swimmers to see "her" body. Its time to find your anger. Its happening here.

Confused She was in a girls team. She's a girl.

But so many of the girls teams they were playing have boys in them now she was getting injured from being tackled by bloody boys.

TW are male. I'd complain as you weren't expecting to compete against a unisex team.

My dd had to stop playing football because she was continually getting tackled by boys.

They are so brave 🙄...but my child has had to stop, doing something she enjoyed and was good at to facilitate that 'bravery'.

In my opinion trans women are absolutely not women. I have obviously seen lots on the tv about this but thought it wasn’t allowed after the whole swimmers debate. I was just so shocked. I intend to complain to the FA but I suspect this will fall on deaf ears!
