I mean where the fuck does one even START?

All I want is a left wing, non-porn-addled FWB who can hold a conversation... I'm independent and have a life of my own that I want to keep separate (at least to start with), I don't want any more kids, I don't want a father figure to my existing kids, I don't want to live with anyone, I don't want to get married etc. Where do I look? I'm thinking Tinder is not the place, but is there anywhere better?

Join some closed Facebook groups where you might find that demographic of partner based on interests or social issues/ politics. Look for people who post regularly, do some recon on their page, do you find any of them attractive? If so contribute to their posts a lot and that group. Move the conversation over to private messenger. This has worked for a few friends of mine, much more effectively than dating sites.

Not really sure what point you are trying to make greasyshoes

That's because they aren't making much sense.

Political views are a reflection of a person's character.

Being able to hold a conversation doesn't mean that someone talks a lot. Being a good listener is as much / more a part of being a good conversationalist as is talking a lot.

Agreed!

Found mine on bumble 😉

Dunno what age you are OP but I am forties and certainly found my independence and forthrightness was very attractive to younger men who were busy avoiding marriage and children. And I am no looker.

can hold a conversation do speak to both personality and character though

Empty vessels make the most noise.
Still waters lie deep.

So sure, someone who talks a lot may not have much personality or character.

It sounds very strange and boring to select a sexual partner on the basis of their politics. What about their personality or their character?

I agree if that’s what you’re after then your women friends sound the best bet.

If you want a heterosexual relationship as well then I have no idea, but good luck.

Maybe among your women friends? Wink

Workplace, hobbies, Internet forums based around social or political interests?

Good luck!
