Beginners exercise routine with dumbells

Hello, last year I bought a set of dumbells with the intention of getting into some sort of shape but they've just been gathering dust! I have absolutely no strength in my arms and, aged 45, weighing over 11 stone at 5'2, I really want to start exercising and building up some muscle! . Can anyone recommend any good YouTube videos with beginners workouts with dumbells please? Thank you.

Don't forget you can just hold the weight plates if it's too heavy to put 2 on a bar. Upper body strength feels like an impossible wall to breakthrough, but with a little and often, if you do enough reps each time so that you couldn't do another, you'll get stronger quite fast. It's all about hitting that exhaustion point. If you don't get that, you're wasting your time.

Have a look at FitOn. The app is mainly free (you need to pay for premium to download). They've got a load of different workouts.

Get a Les Mills body pump class up on you tube.
You'll be surprised how much weight you can lift

Joe Wicks does a good all over body work out on YouTube . It's free and he just has 2 sets of dumb bells, no other equipment

@Starbrites in that case start with the 0.5kg and see how you get on. The routine from her workout is about 10mins long so easy to fit in. Also, push ups against a wall are a good way to start out.

How heavy are the ones you have? Start with 1kg and work up. I often use the section from Cindy Crawford’s Next Challenge workout on YouTube, about 40mins in, when I don’t have time to do a full upper body workout. It’s a great place to start to build up to something more.
