Which fitbit or similar shall I ask for?

My birthday’s coming up and I’ve said to DH I’d really like a fitbit or something similar. Having done some online searching I don’t really know what to go for.
Please tell me what you have/recommendations or ones to avoid. Thanks

It depends on what you want it for. Are you a regular exerciser, or just more interested in moving a bit more and keeping an eye on your activity?

I’ve had a Fitbit Alta HR for ages which I’ve loved. But I’ve just bought a Garmin Vivomove which is more expensive but has more features.

I'm fat and lazy and have recently got a Charge 3. It's really motivating me to move more. It cost about £75, it's not accurate with reading stairs but I like it.

Depends how much you want to spend but DH did loads of research on this for my Christmas and said that the Apple Watch 3 was better than a Fitbit, plus the price was down around then because the Apple Watch 5 was out. So that's what he went for and I do really love it. All my other devices are apple though so I guess that plays a part?

I am not a very regular exerciser but want to be! I am going to be working from home for the forseeable future and I want to start doing workouts at home and more walking. I did borrow DH’s once and was shocked at how low my steps were and then how much better I felt after a long walk seeing them increase. I found it motivating.

I don’t really understand the app part - how does that work? Do you have to look at the app to see your results? I thought you just see them on the fitbit itself?

I would like it to look reasonably attractive so it can double up as a watch. Oh and are they ok on sensitive skin? I don’t really get on with normal watches as metal reacts with my skin.

Budget upto around £150 but always on the look out for a good deal/offer.

I have a Versa 2. I love it.

Log my food on it and water for weight loss.

I like it because I can see notifications from my phone. It's waterproof and I like the fitbit app.

You can't make calls or anything in it but I like that.

The battery life is five days and it charges in about two hours.

I’m trying to decide between the Charge 3 and the Inspire HR - what are the differences?

@thejoysofboys does the garmin have a sleep track ? It's what I really like about Fitbit but ive had a lot of fitbits and they really only last 18 months to 2 years ?

Yes, the Garmin tracks sleep. I’m finding it pretty good so far. The only thing is that it doesn’t track my heart rate that well during HIIT classes, but then my Fitbit was the same for that. Running and other classes seem fine.
I also chose that over an Apple watch as it lasts about 5 days on a single charge and it would drive me mad having to charge it every day.

I recently bought the Charge 3. I really like it. I’m only little with slim wrists so lots of the others were just too big for me.

I like how it looks, I love keeping an eye on my steps, sleep, active minutes, calories burned, distance run etc. I can add my water and food, as well as other exercise. It has a GPS for runs and I can link it to my Strava.

Suits me fine. I’m sure there are better smart watches and trackers but this one suits me.

I have a garmin vivo sport, coat about £100. It tracks my steps, heart rate, sleep, maps runs/walks, can link to your phone so you get text alerts. The app is good and easy to use, it shows your results over the last days/weeks/months/year and you can really see where you have improved

Does anyone use the fitbit app aswell as their fitbit?

You would need to use the app to see the data ? I always check my sleep every few days, I've got a pulse type alarm for getting 250 steps in an hour during the day. You can log food / drink etc on the app , I don't at the moment , just use it for step count , heart rate and sleep. My blood pressure is a bit random at the moment so checking it . Which probably makes it worse.

I have a charge 2 and it's knackered , I've had many problems over the years using Fitbit but reported it - photo with ref number- and have a replacement on its way, which I'm really impressed with.

Love my Charge 2, I've had it 3 years. If/when it breaks, I wouldn't hesitate to get a new Fitbit

I've been given a Charge 2 by the MIL after my Ionic stopped working. I really miss the Ionic. The Charge 2 is nice though

I use the FitBit app probably every other day as I like to see how much sleep I got and at what levels

I do like the look of the Apple Watch but I wouldn't spend that sort of money. Second hand isn't an option as if it stops working, no warranty
