Shine 2017

I've signed up to do the full marathon this year having completed the half last year.

Has anyone started the full and not been able to finish? I'm not sure my joints will hold out now if I'm honest and I don't want to risk injury, so what happens if I can't complete....do I shorten the route and rejoin the half or what?? Tia

Thanks for your replies. I'm walking with friends so need to meet up with them.

I am training but like I said in my op my knees and hips are feeling the strain and as I have a physical job I can't risk being laid up. Sad old gimmer

If I remember rightly, the full and half routes split early on so you'd not really have a choice to change. Don't think it's technically allowed either. Think your only option would be droping out at a nearby tube station and heading home.

If you train then you'd finish!

You just push through
