Eating disorders

Is this an eating disorder?

So about a year and a half ago I started having problems with eating. It started with having a stomach ache when I ate, I suddenly thought about the fact that I could be allergic to it. Since then my intake of food has dropped dramatically there are now only 5 items of food that I can eat without overwhelming anxiety that I'm allergic to them.
I do have other behaviours that are worrying such as weighing myself everyday and not being able to see my 109 lb weight loss when I look at myself. I hate my body and always have but I don't feel like this is a true eating disorder iygwim. I'm still technically overweight and I started avoiding food because of the overwhelming anxiety, I feel absolutely terrified at the thought of putting anything other than my 'safe' foods in my mouth. My doctor doesn't seem worried about it, so I don't know. Any help is appreciated. X

@Vix2007 if your main concern is around weight gain and body image then it could be an eating disorder, but another angle to consider is health anxiety. If your fear over eating those foods is that you will have an allergic reaction (rather than fear of weight gain), then it sounds more like HA. This is a really good resource to take a look at and see if you can relate: www.cci.health.wa.gov.au/-/media/CCI/Mental-Health-Professionals/Anxiety/Anxiety---Information-Sheets/Anxiety-Information-Sheet---08-What-is-Health-Anxiety.pdf

Speak to a different doctor. The very fact that your anxiety about food is severely restricting your choices is concerning. It sounds like Avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID) I suppose but, whatever it is, you certainly need some help to overcome your anxiety about food.
I hope you get to speak to someone supportive soon Flowers

They may have had a distressing experience with food, such as choking or vomiting, or experiencing significant abdominal pain. This can cause the person to develop feelings of fear and anxiety around food or eating, and lead to them to avoiding certain foods or textures. Some people may experience more general worries about the consequences of eating that they find hard to put into words, and restrict their intake to what they regard as ‘safe’ foods. Significant levels of fear or worry can lead to avoidance based on concern about the consequences of eating
