That's great nofilter. My ds had such a lot of illnesses until we started him on readybrek and rice krispies. It was a pediatrician who said he looked short of iron and I think she was right because within a week his face changed from beige to pink, going from his cheeks first, then up to his temples.

I just wish I could find a supplement that I could tolerate though, because they all seem to disagree with me. I'll have a look at those ones that you are using. They sounds interesting.

Which multivitamin do you use? There seem to be a lot.

Wow! Just looking at that site reminds me of how many things they can buy in the US that we can't buy here. There are oodles of melatonin options. I always find it strange in the US that it's so easy to get drugs that we don't have, and so hard to get bacon.

sunny I also miss cremeeggthief and peoniesformissannersley too

I've been meaning to contact cc3 to find out how I can transfer money to them more regularly than just paying 5% by direct debit once a month. I hate making phonecalls(odd for someone who works at a desk job and talks on the phone all day long Hmm). My internet banking for this cc wasn't working either, so I spent a few minutes at that today and got it working and also made the phone call to get the bic and iban, twice in branch I've asked for this and they couldn't give it to me HmmShock

so my cc1 is repaid and I've got 0 balance on it, made a purchase on it last week and again on Monday and repaid both yesterday, one was personal spends and other was joint spends. This is a cash rewards card.
cc2 balance is now €1000
cc3 balance is now €4300
I have reduced my cc debt by almost €2k since start of this year but this isn't viable every month as some of that was Christmas tips and a big Christmas present cheque. Once I'm back to full hours at work I will make bigger payments against it.

Hi Sunny are there nasties in the vitamins I’m giving DD? Not well up on this stuff really?

Finally done a meal plan. I have 13 meals! No particular order:

Chorizo patatas bravas
Curried mince with flat bread s
Burritos
Roast gammon with cauliflower cheese
Gammon with coleslaw, salad and nice bread
Sweet chilli chicken stir fry
Pizza (swimming night)
Nuggets and chips (another swimming night)
Fresh stuffed pasta
Puff pastry pizza
Lentil dahl
Pasta and sauce (swimming night)
Chorizo and mozzarella spaghetti

Phew. So all of that was £83 plus enough fresh stuff for one week with no top ups. That leaves £67 for next weeks shop which will just be lunch and fresh bits. I think I can easily do this.

I can't take a lot of vits either Sunny now I'm allergic to sulphited sugar syrups. My Vit d3 supplement has an olive oil carrier. I have to drop 5 drops onto my tongue every morning. Best done after Dh has gone to work.

NSD.

Brilliant meal plan Wreck. I do 2-3 week plans too.

Ok, so I cannot fault flogas. We got back from the school run to find a tech van parked up. The chap confirmed that my tank was indeed empty, put 2x19l bottles in to tide us over tonight, and did a full leak check. Heating is back on.

Beef stew was very nice, as was pudding...base of digestives and butter like for a cheesecake, topping a tin of condensed milk, same quantity of natural yoghurt, juice and rind from a lemon and lime, mixed and frozen. Very fresh and tasty. The juice and yoghurt react and sort of set, so it's lovely a bit defrosted. And ds tried it. He didn't like it, but he did try it! Win.

My ds has a very limited diet, so I feed him what he will eat. Any new tastes are a bonus. I'm wary of supplements bought over the tinternet, and the dc have bassets chewy multi vitamins. Dp loves buying powders and pills online, and takes allsorts. I roll my eyes.

I think it's been a nsd, but have found a nice poncho pattern (with long knitted cuffs) which is $7, if I download that it will come out of paypal anyway.

I'm tired so not much to say last night.
Cag ds has had bronchiolitis numerous times including when he was just weeks old. Nebuliser helped immensely, you can borrow from pharmacy if you don't have one, we bought one though because he was sick so often. Halo therapy has been our saviour though and he survived this winter without needing nebuliser at all Grin
Doctor showed us a way of helping him to clear him chest by a jerky upright movement on his ribcage but I can't describe it in words. Because when they're small their coughing isn't strong enough for their diaphragm to clear their chest this movement kinda forces the action. Maybe someone in healthcare here knows what it's called & could link to a demonstration.
Hope that rambling makes sense.
If she becomes very lethargic/heart racing, back to gp. I missed this one time with ds or he deteriorated while I was at work & luckily dh spotted the difference & got him to gp & he spent a few nights in hospital.

Everyone I know is poorly and/or tired.
This winter seems neverending .
Regarding vitamins -all the research shows the body extracting them from food is where the benefit lies.

I personally wouldnt touch anything bought on the internet from abroad -currently a massive Salmonella outbreak in US from supplements sold online.
36 people have died Sad

Evening.

I take a boots own brand multi vitamin with a probiotic in it. And on top of that vitamin d and an iron supplement. The latter two on gps recommendation.

Lovely day today. Went riding £32. Rode a more “go-ey” pony than usual pony. So helped me to nail my canter position as pony goes and stops when you ask but keeps the canter. Other pony stops when she feels like it. So you have to work work work. And if I can’t get the position and movement right (despite instructor yelling a combination of the following “seat and leg and seat and leg” “more leg” “leg on” “toes to the front” “heels down” “glue bum to seat!!!”) I cant keep the canter.

Anyway. Nice sunny hack then a private lesson.

Then £14 In M&S on flowers - pink and white roses for dms friend and a loaf of brown bread.

Dm looked after ds while I was riding and she made me brown bread smoked salmon sandwiches for lunch. Yummmmm.

Went to see dms friend this afternoon with Dm and ds. And we went for a nice long walk.

Packing things have arrived. It looks unlikely or sale will go through in 2 weeks. For reasons outside of our control sadly. But I’m pushing for it.

Am reluctant to start packing though as I’m afraid I’ll have to unpack.

My coach, who is a physiologist in addition is not a massive fan of supplements. Nor was the dietician that once analysed my diet who worked for the Olympic athletics team (long story, I won a competition). The absorption rate is low. Caveat is iron. I liquid iron supplement will have a better absorption rate than a tablet, I use Spatone, which is very gentle on the stomach. I get it on subscription from Amazon. Only my opinion though, and I only have iron because endurance running depletes your natural iron stores.

nofilter. Just also my opinion but NFU, although they provide excellent cover, are notoriously expensive for insurance. I've overinsured our equine collection in the past and still never paid over £50 a month for lifetime cover with Petplan. My vet bills in the past would never ever be covered by sticking even £100 a month in an account. That's even with insurance cover, just paying the excess medical bills. My friend did a similar thing (sticking some money in an account each month) and her pony ran into a fence post in the field, a massively random accident, her gullet was so badly damaged they had to let her go, but only after opening her up to check the damage to see if she could be saved. That cost £3k alone. I've had 2 fractured legs from the last 3 ponies. The first had pins put in his tibia, £6k total bill, of which £4.5k was covered for £24 pcm.

I'm tired tonight, I've got marathon training legs, ie they are dead.

£5 - dd exercise class
£24 feed shop for horse feed and haulage
£30 Asda.

If you have a restricted diet I guess supplements would be relevant though, mine is pretty solid and varied. I take B12 now too, as that's the only one a vegan diet can't cover.

Need I introduced my friend to spatone for her son who's autistic and has a limited diet. She managed to put it in his fruit shoot without him noticing, she was so happy she almost cried!

I don't take anything but (like everyone) should take vitamin d as I'm deficient.

Report
Fluffycloudland77 · 21/02/2018 20:35

I'm restricted for Vit d so I buy that one in oil. My dm's friend died of melanoma in the early 70's & her consultant said they suspected uv exposure to be the cause. I was wearing sunblock when oil spf2 was fashionable.
