Cost of living

Ooh mysterious Need :o

Our tree is a nerdfest em I love it.

I agree re: everyone having something they will pay more for, maybe that's even one of the benefits of generally being more frugal - you can then afford to treat yourself to the things you really want, whether it's designer clothes or all organic food etc. For me it's board games. I'm a snob when it comes to games, cheap stuff just won't do 😳

I have spent all day watching horrible histories and comforting DD, she doesn't handle being ill very well - makes a change for her not to be leaping around the room, she doesn't get properly ill much at all. She even refused chocolate earlier so she must be feeling really rotten.

Need not surprised you got angry at that comment Hmm did he think the dog walking fairy and her colleagues would step in while you were out?!

Blimey it's 2 weeks till Christmas isn't it. Wow.

€20 soft play voucher for a Christmas present & €8.40 on kids meal at Burger King and a 6" subway for me.
Following in girlies footsteps and bowing out of bazaar carol singing and Santa visit. They've just seen him at a party at soft play anyhow & haven't mentioned bazaar! Going to make snow with baking powder & conditioner at home instead Smile

Yes 2 weeks Cag Xmas Shock its comer found so quickly! Hope your dd is alright, not a chest infection is it? Am slightly paranoid about all childhood illnesses these days since dd was so poorly!! Have you tried the vicks on the feet for the cough thing?

I don't think i have anything I pay extra for Xmas Grin I'm just too frugal Xmas Wink I do like a particular brand of skin care but thats because its the only one that sorts out my skin. I have never bought into the idea that 'more expensive = better' fallacy. I pointed out that the £1 bottle of miracle oil is as good as the £15 bottle of bio oil that my mum swears by the other day, she tried it and agreed couldn't tell the difference!!

We have had such a lazy day but its been nice, i started the wrapping but it was making my already sore neck even worse as wrapping means lots of looking down! Back to lying on the sofa, going to do jacket spuds for tea in a min...

I had a lovely, lazy Sunday dinner here. Frozen vegetable cakes I picked up from Ikea a few weeks ago (even better, there were 8 in the pack, and I thought there were only 2!), with mixed frozen veg, mash and gravy. Lush and the only thing I actually made was the mash and even that was frozen leftovers from a fortnight ago. Smile

It's been nice, reading about everyone's days. Need, I hope you have been "on strike" since walking the dogs!

I had the best roast dinner at my friends. The most delicious beef ever mmmm and now we don't need dinner, might have some toast or something later.

£30 fuel.

Spends: I sent my sister €22 through PayPal to get my mum a bottle of Bombay Sapphire or Tanqueray gin for Christmas.

I won't bore you with the details of my day! Alternated between sleeping in bed and watching tv on the sofa. Feel horrendous. NSD though!

I'm worried it may be Girlie she's wheezing a lot. Using Vicks, steam etc. Will ring doctor tomorrow if no better. There's now an option to request a home visit on the phone line so I may try that, not sure what qualifies one for it but worth a try given that I find it hard physically to get to the surgery as well due to location.

WreckTangled · 11/12/2016 17:55

Cag our criteria for a home visit is pretty strict. I know other surgeries are different though so I would ask. At ours you have to be completely house bound to warrant a HV because we cover such a large area and the GP only usually has 90 minutes for home visits/ admin/ lunch. At my friends surgery, though, they have one GP doing visits all day. Hope she feels better.

Sorry I havent kept up. It's been fairly busy here. Very almost done our Christmas shopping.

DS hasn't been well for about 2 weeks! And then we had a Christmas Party to go which was awesome.

We have gone a little crazy financially as our Christmas tree lights blew up and we had to buy prescriptions again.

Fresh start tomorrow as DS is much better. Xmas Smile

Oh that sounds awful. Menthol crystals are excellent for congestion. Independent chemists will sell them.

Hahah... that related to the comment about water.

We have cancelled Christmas in the Unescorted household.... none of us could be doing with the faff so we are going to Mallorca instead. No turkey, no presents, no rictus smiles as we realise that the extended family have just stepped over the slightly odd line into down right offensive territory. It is sooo relaxing Grin
