Collieballs · 09/10/2016 11:02
Ursula congratulations! Hoping you and the twins are all good (and the rest of your family!)
DH has just had to drop the car down at the garage. They put a new tyre on but it had a slow puncture already . I bet theyll charge us for another tyre That's Dick Fit for you. Sorry I meant Kwik Fit. No I didn't - I definitely mean Dick Fit
I am going to attempt to eat some toast. I'm so yellow! I look like I should be in The Simpsons.
WreckTangled · 09/10/2016 11:10
Oh collie that's not good re tyres next time use etyres you get cashback and they come to you!
Toasterwaffle · 09/10/2016 11:12
Ursula congratulations!!
Collie are you jaundiced??
Collieballs · 09/10/2016 11:21
toaster I don't know none of the doctors mentioned it. I was really dehydrated yesterday and almost put on a drip for fluid. But the anti sickness meds are working and I have kept fluid down for almost 24 hours now. Plus, I just ate my first bit of food!
Wreck that's pretty good to know! Thank you :)
Toasterwaffle · 09/10/2016 11:25
Honestly collie I know youve been started on a PPI but if youve any sign of jaundice (look at the whites of your eyes) with abdo pain and vomiting youd need to be seen again urgently ?gallstones, you can get some quite nasty gallbladder infections which need in hosp antibiotics
IamnotaStepfordHousewife · 09/10/2016 11:29
Need some inspiration. Can I join in? I bring
SnugglySnerd · 09/10/2016 11:30
Toaster, that looks amazing!
Toasterwaffle · 09/10/2016 11:32
Welcome stepford :)
Thanks snuggly I have also coated it in more unnecessary sugar.. because I am a glutton lol. Its pretty damn yum
Shesgotelectricboobs · 09/10/2016 11:33
collie glad to hear you've eaten. Hope you feel better soon. X
genie thank you for the fresh new thread.
toaster me please!! Looks yum!
I've got a savings account for hypothetical children. At present, £25 a month goes into it. Not much but once I get pg I imagine I may want to cut back on my riding lessons/stop altogether. So the money saved there will be pooped into account.
My sis just popped in. She's been to the car boot and picked up 3 Kilner jars for me. Yay! Different sizes but I've washed and filled them with lentils popcorn kernels and split peas
Having a cuppa while I wait for the washing to finish.
Fluffycloudland77 · 09/10/2016 11:54
Thank you genie
Welcome stepford
Collieballs · 09/10/2016 11:58
toaster eek! I'll keep an eye on that then. The OOH GP said I can go back today if needed. They are right next to hospital so that's handy. And if I need to go I can skip triage. The pain is eased off so much now.
DH just entered the meter readings. Our electricity usage has plummeted again! we're using 30p less a day.
Mmm toaster that looks good. I think I have my appetite back
boobs that's such a good idea re: saving for future children. Love it!
stepford welcome!
So after being hit hard financially by various people in the house getting poorly. I think I'm going to start a savings pot just for prescriptions and medicine. I don't get the prescriptions every month so I can't do a pre pay thingy. I'd rather have a pot of £50 put aside for it all. It has a huge impact on us. It's cost me £45 so far this month! A few weeks ago DS needed prescriptions and various medicines & that was at least £20.
So that's £65. worth it though!
CremeEggThief · 09/10/2016 12:01
Collie, you shouldn't be paying for prescriptions or medicine for DS. They're all free for children.
Thanks for the new thread, Genie.
AGenie · 09/10/2016 12:04
Glad to hear things are more stable there collie. Well done. The budget for medicines sounds excellent.
My new scanner arrived and is working. Very happy about that.
Eva50 · 09/10/2016 12:05
Collie glad you are feeling a bit better.
Ursula congratulations!
Stepford I could do with the and
, hold the
for the moment.
New washing machine ordered and put on credit card. I didn't want to do it but it can't be avoided. Luckily the electrician has been (friend of dh) and it's not the actual oven but the power supply that is the problem and he's fixed it for the cost of a coffee and a snickers bar. I'm just waiting to see what will go next!
DNephew's birthday today but present bought so just to deliver. Hoping for a NSD.
Collieballs · 09/10/2016 12:15
creme oh yeah I worded that wrong. DS needed stuff OTC sorry, not prescriptions. Still ruddy expensive though. :)
CremeEggThief · 09/10/2016 12:20
Collie, you know you can ask them to put these on prescription, if you're a bit strapped. Or the pharmacy own brands can be a fair bit cheaper than the brand names.
WreckTangled · 09/10/2016 12:31
Ds has just been sick. Now I have THE FEAR
Girliefriendlikesflowers · 09/10/2016 13:28
Collie just to second what toaster said if you are yellow go back to the dr!! I had gallstones and was seriously ill (as you have described) by the end of it, had pancreatitis and everything. Really not fun.
We have been out this morning, took dd to see The Secret Life of Pets at the kids club. Was £5 for both of us and dd was very happy as she has wanted to see it for ages (I was too tight to take her when it was full price!!)
Popped into Sainbos to get some fruit and yogurts, picked up meal deal type lunch for dd and spent £11 in all. Plan to try and eek the food out this week....
Meal plan;
Spag bol - plan to make a vat of the stuff so can feed us for a couple of days and will have enough to portion off for the freezer.
Jacket spuds, tuna and cheese.
fish, chips and peas.
Pasta with tuna and pesto, will do with some veg (whatever I have left!)
Hmmm thats as far as i have got!
Thanks for the new fred
Cagliostro · 09/10/2016 14:07
Thanks for the new thread Genie :)
Congratulations Ursula! :)
mammymammyIRL · 09/10/2016 14:11
Thanks for new thread.
Electric that sounds like a great system at coop. And saving for future children is a great idea. I did that when pregnant with dd to buy buggy cot car seat etc
Just mentioned spin dryer to dh, planting the seed very important mentioned you fluffy
he just put up our outdoor covered line, there's no wind today though
I'm not keen on pets indoors but Tom is so sweet, he might be snuck indoors to watch tv with me when dh is on nights [sssh]
Noitsnotteatimeyet · 09/10/2016 14:15
Hello - I couldn't keep up with the old thread ....
Hideously expensive weekend here ... our tumble dryer packed up so I ordered a new one not realising that ds's uni rent is due this week - that's £1500 I simply don't have
I've also been going through my bank statements for the last month and adding up how much we've spent in various categories- it's very depressing. We can save a few pounds here and there but we've switched all our bills to cheaper providers and I'm running out of things to cut back on - we need to save hundreds not £20 here and there
We're also about to be hit with huge bills for the house - we've got damp in the downstairs loo, the bricks need repointing and the front garden wall is falling down
Really don't know what to do
