Hi all,
I was wondering if you could help me out.
I've had some problems with faded receipts in recent times (where they were too faded to use) and now I'm writing a story about it for a paper, so I'm wondering if anyone has had the same experience and would be willing to talk about it?
Thanks

There's a media requests section - why not ask there?

Haha okay, I was not aware of it. Thank you very much

It's your wallet/purse.... The receipt is folded before fully dry
Waft them around a bit to dry them

I don't think it's wet ink. I think most are on heat sensitive paper now.

We used to keep them on a pin board in the kitchen but they definitely faded over time and probably because the kitchen got warm. I think the paper/ ink is the issue

I had this 20 years ago with Currys and a problem with a faulty stereo.
The stereo was their own make ??matsui?? The stupid staff firstly tried to tell me I couldn't prove I had bought it from Currys. When I pointed out it was their own brand they still refused to repair/refund as I couldn't prove the date k had bought it (six months previously).
So I returned with a bank statement proving I had spent £130 in Currys six months previously but the manager still argued it saying I could have purchased something else.
I then went back on a Saturday when it was busy, stood by the tills and complained loudly, threatened trading standards, etc and eventually got a refund. Receipt was shiney paper and I do think the type of paper makes it worse. It had been stored in a metal tin so I dont think it had faded in sunlight!

Yes it's heat sensitive paper as a pp. said. I discovered this the other day by accident and was amazed. Not sure why it fades over time though
