Pro - baby feels like he's in the bed with you.
Con - it's harder to get out if your side of the bed.

You can bum pat them to sleep while in bed
You won’t wreck you’re lower back picking them up
You don’t have to get out of bed
You can roll them back in once youve bf/cuddled them to sleep - mine would always wake up with the “drop” into a crib, they’ll slowly get used to sleeping in there
They are awesome. Just get one. Even if you have the easiest baby in the world it’s still easier to check on them right beside your bed.

I can't really give pros and cons as I am currently expecting my first, but I was wondering if you had considered renting a Bednest?

They have a christmas sale - £30 for 6 months rental. www.bednest.com/

As pp said, harder to get out the bed but my snuzpod could be used as a stand alone crib or attached to the bed (divan or slatted).

We used ours as a co sleeper which I thought was brilliant and I was fine with the extra shuffle even with my spd (can’t remember what it’s called now). But if you don’t get on with it, you can just put the side up, detach it and have it as a normal crib.

I know they probably had an overhaul but I still, personally, wouldn’t feel comfortable with the Bednest.

I used a babybay with dc1 and thought it was great. Esp as i ended up with an emcs so it was great not having to get up. When they grew too big (about 5 months) we used a dropside cot pushed against the bed and it was fine. dc2 wanted to be in bed all cuddled up so it largely hasnt been used this time. I would say a nice extra but not essential

I have the next2me and I’m so glad I got it. They didn’t exist when I had my first.
I was worried about getting in and out of bed, particularly after a section but
It’s never been an issue.

Biggest pro for me is that when DS is doing his best starfish impression it’s somewhere My arse can rest instead of falling out the bed

Just get it. Sleep is just too precious with a newborn and that second hand one seems like a real bargain especially as you can sell it again when you're done. I had a snuzpod for DC2 and 3 and it made the world of difference!!

Had standard crib with my first. Found it a faff to get baby out/back in during middle of the night for feeds. Second baby I decided to invest in a Next2Me. Best money ever spent! It's bigger than most cribs, so baby was in it for longer. Could attach to bed or be standalone. Used as travel crib on many occasions as light, packs flat and compact.
Do it! You won't regret it!

It was bednest I had and I’d still recommend it. With ANY beside crib always follow the instructions.
