I've copied this from bbc news site in an article about the daily press conferences he and his sidekicks will be doing.

In a phone call on Monday, Mr Johnson will encourage leaders of the G7 nations - Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United States - to back the World Health Organization response, and provide funding and expertise to speed up the development of a vaccine.

He will encourage others to back the WHO response to this pandemic...erm, hello BOJO which one of the countries mentioned is failing to follow WHO advice...pretty certain it isnt France, maybe Germany? No? Didnt think so.

What a bloody joke, you couldnt make this shit up 😡

Amazing how some people suddenly think the government is infallible. Has anyone watched Chernobyl? This is BoJo’s Chernobyl moment.

The shut down needs to be implemented at the right time. There will be a large group of advisors working out when is best. It will not be a decision solely down to BOJO.

The shut down only last so long.

There can never be a complete shut down.
The flowing people still need to work.
Medical staff
Maintenance for medical places
Supplies for the medical
Truck drivers
Fuel stations
Police
Fire
Electricity supply
Gas supply
Sewage
Water

All of these things can not just stop.

The difference between USA and UK is that major USA states and cities are making their own decisions.
My state is one of several to shut schools, museums, restaurants and bars, as well as banning large groups.
UK counties don't have that ability.

@noblegiraffe that is despicable yet sadly not surprising. Current UK and US leaders are both a disgrace to themselves and to their countries.

Yes he should back the WHO, but he is not. It is lip service he will be giving on this phone meeting. He is implementing nothing the WHO recommend in this country, the country he is supposed to running, not running into the ground. It is a disgrace.

He should implement the best practice from other countries. A total shutdown with clear information. Only isolation can stop this. People have been out and about spreading it this weekend because of his failure to implement ANY measures to flatten the curve. He has failed us.

He's not backing WHO in his actions for his own country. He's going against their advice, and in WHO's own words "letting the fire burn".

What should he do then?

Not back WHO

At least he didn’t do what Trump did and try to poach German scientists working on a vaccine to make it US exclusive.
