Do we ALL self isolate

DS started coughing in the night a real barking cough. He has a temperature of 37.2

I have moved other DS into my dd’s room and moved my dd into share with her sister.

So effectively ds is in a room by himself.

What do we do now? Do we all self isolate. Do I just keep him off? No one else is unwell.

Also I don’t know if this is just a ‘cough’. I’ve read now not to call 111 unless you are seriously unwell.

I’m getting mixed reports !

I understand your confusion. My dd has started coughing since last night, temp of 37.7 which fluctuates and she just feels lethargic. I’m not sure what to do with the rest of the family. DH doesn’t have a job where he could wfh so he’ll have to go to work. When you look at nhs 111 website it just says that the person with symptoms should self isolate but I know the prime minister was saying that soon an entire family may have to do so if one person has symptoms but that we’re not at that stage yet. It’s so confusing and really frightening. I’ve just seen on Sky News that the uk death toll has doubled from 10 to 21. ☹️

*if recovered I mean not of.

Just to add, I would also be cautious about any vulnerable people you know and try to keep away from them.

I've just had to phone the Corona virus hotline about this as I work with vulnerable people.

I was advised to isolate DD and keep her indoors for 7 days but we can all go about our usual days.

I explained about my work and that she shares a room with her brother with no other options - they said to look out for symptoms and up the hygiene precautions, otherwise it's business as usual!

Keep him separate to the rest of the household as much as possible. Monitor temperature for changes. The rest of you continue as normal unless you develop symptoms. He will need to be home for 7 days from the onset of symptoms and only go out after those 7 days of recovered. Keep an eye out for changing advice (I know it can be ambiguous btw)
