Confusing test. Horizontal line when should be vertical?

I’m so confused by this. Should be a vertical line if positive. Has this happened to anyone? What would you read this test as positive or negative?

Super annoyingly I can’t do another until Monday at least so this is bugging me. If it makes a difference I peed into a cup and dipped the test for the recommended time so it’s not like I’ve peed on the test window accidentally.

Appreciate any advice.

Wow how odd... I got my son's positive with that one but it was two clear lines!

So after concocting a highly unlikely story about my need for a pharmacy and a quick escape I managed to buy a different brand of test and it’s a negative. Weirdly there’s still a funny horizontal line on this one but way less pronounced, more wishy washy but definitely a negative. I’ll post a pic for reference so if anyone has the same issue and stumbles upon this thread they’ll at least have a reference.

It's not inconceivable that somehow they've put the wrong test in the wrong box, but I'd say it's more likely that there's been a dye run for some reason all the way across the whole test. I wouldn't be getting my hopes up with that test personally (sorry).

It's not a line test (they might claim it is, but out the wrong type in the plastic)

@Onlyrainbows it’s just supposed to be a vertical line for pregnant not a cross so I’m thoroughly confused.

I might have to make an elaborate excuse and slip away tonight for another.

By extrapolation, I would say it's positive (all test that use the cross symbol say that a cross = preggers)

No there’s no address and no website unhelpfully. The box and the test went in the bin at the motorway services as I’m travelling with family and have literally no privacy and no shops to get to until Monday. It was only a cheap one bought in Bodycare.

Complain to Clear Blue and they'll send you free tests 😂
I'd do another one to be sure as that's an inaccurate one

Looks like a manufacturing error, how annoying. I assume they Have got the test strip the wrong way around?

Only way to find out is to do another test! Is there an address on the box you could send the faulty test to and get your money back? Could be a bad batch
