Pain levels during Pregnancy

So I came off all the pain management drugs before TTC but was still able to take codeine and paracetamol. Apart from the odd rather crappy flare up things have actually been much better throughout pregnancy. Wfh helped me massively as carrying things was something that used to make my pain much worse.

I’m now 40 weeks + 5 and over the past 2 weeks my background level of pain has been creeping back up to pre pregnancy levels of almost constant. Did anyone else experience this at the end of pregnancy?

My pain is in my neck and head, I have damaged nerves from a car accident. My only guess is that the change in hormones are having something to do with it but my pain had never really been linked to periods or anything before.

I’m a bit worried about how manageable it’ll be immediately after the baby’s born.

I’m guess being 40 weeks is going put pressure on all parts of your body when you sit and move in different ways. Can you talk to your midwife about pain killers you can take if you intend to Breast feed? Were you on stronger drugs before? Even if you don’t need take anything it can help to put your mind at rest to have a plan just case.
If it’s long term problem you may have to be more firm about the pain levels. You don’t want them dismiss it as oh well pregnant women often have little aches and pains rubbish.
