I am in dire need of inspiration! 🙌

OP posts:
YorkieTheRabbit · 20/10/2022 16:48

Wildlife camera
Whiskey
L’occitaine stuff
Aftershave soother
Not much inspiration this year
For his stocking I’ve got
Molton Brown shower gel cracker
Bombay sapphire gin and tonic tin
Chocolate
Some savoury snacks
Christmas coal, I’ve ordered this but it won’t come until December
Shave cream
I’m going to get him some bed socks, he’s tall and his feet are usually sticking out of bed

Jeffjefftyjeff · 20/10/2022 16:54

A very fancy (ie expensive) knife (for the kitchen), at his request

CoffeeChocolateWine · 20/10/2022 17:21

Whisky is always a given (as Baileys is for me!)
Spicery Legend kit - bought him the curry one last year for his birthday and he loved it so much he bought it for the rest of his family for last Christmas! Can't decide between taco or mezze this time...
Books
Also vaguely considering the Lazy Man pan - thinking it might be a good addition to our camping supplies.
We're also buying a new coffee machine so that's kind of a joint gift to each other!

Awrite · 20/10/2022 17:26

So far, I've bought a couple of t-shirts and pre-ordered the new Adam Grant book.

Will pick up some cheekily named beers, some fancy fermented foods closer to Christmas.

Will also buy him more books and maybe something for his kilt collection. Thinking maybe a kilt pin.

Bookaholic73 · 20/10/2022 17:41

I have no idea. He adores coffee, so I’m trying to come up with something coffee related. Not a coffee machine, as he already has one.

any suggestions welcome.

Pugalicious · 20/10/2022 17:44

Money is tight this year for all the family and we have agreed to only buy for the children, but my problem is they are all my children :)
I will be buying something useful for my partner. Socks and underpants and some chocolate which he loves.

IggyAce · 20/10/2022 17:46

This is a brilliant list - I'm considering a wildlife camera too just researching them - which one are you getting?

double walled coffee glasses? (Not necessarily that brand, just first ones I came to.)

Chocolate coated coffee beans.

Biscotti
Cantuccini
Box of individually wrapped biscotti like you get in cafes

Mrsfussypants1 · 20/10/2022 17:56

An Ororo heated golf jacket/gilet
Sock shop bamboo socks
That's it so far just going to add a few bits as the jacket was quite expensive. I'll probably buy the ororo smaller rechargeable battery, and some nice chocolates. May add some warm loungewear, he's quite fussy and wants to choose his own but will probably never get around to it, so I'll probably end up buying next joggers, t shirts and borg hoodie. His ugg slippers from last year are still going strong and worn daily.

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 20/10/2022 17:59

@Bookaholic73 or coffee art templates, a hot chocolate shaker and hot chocolate

Also if you Google 'coffee cookbook' you might get some Ideas if he'd like that sort of thing

MrsMontyD · 20/10/2022 17:59

His main present is a number plate.

Stocking fillers
Aftershave
Posh chutney and mustard
His favourite sweets
A T-shirt
Harry's shave cream
Harry's Hair taming cream

OhMerde · 20/10/2022 18:04

I've got him some artwork and a pair of suede boots so far.

Devo1818 · 20/10/2022 18:10

Head shaver
Lego set (big optimus prime one)
Woolly hat
Socks
3 x books
Oodie
American sweet hamper

In his stocking a little bottle of whiskey , some sweets, a yoyo and a rubix cube.

Devo1818 · 20/10/2022 18:11

Oh and a big mug, he loves tea and one is never enough.

YorkieTheRabbit · 20/10/2022 18:15

Link doesn’t seem to be working now but it’s from Amazon so you can look it up 😊

Franticbutterfly · 20/10/2022 18:15

A Bowflex adjustable dumbbell (his DM is buying the other one)I think of a number of things I'd rather spend £319 on.

Inextremis · 20/10/2022 18:26

Alexa for his car (Auto?)
A T-shirt
Whiskey advent calendar (obvs to be given at the beginning of December)
Good bottle of whiskey (Jameson single pot still)
A water dripper thing for use with whiskey (sensing a theme?)
Guinness chocolates
Guinness Book of Records (tradition!)
Graham's Port miniature selection box

What's a water dripper thing for whisky? My dad loves whisky and I'm stumped this year! He's getting a whisky advent calendar for his Dec birthday.

imnotthatkindofmum · 20/10/2022 18:35

I've asked for socks so he's getting socks.

imnotthatkindofmum · 20/10/2022 18:35

*he's

MeowMeowPowerRangers · 20/10/2022 18:36

He asked for a vape to help him quit smoking, so he's got one as a early present.we don't really tend to do gifts more about the kids!
