What will be this year’s ‘must have’/sell out toy?

Just wondering what people think 2022’s equivalent to the fingerling will be? I just love being the auntie who manages to get the toy that has already sold out by the time the child actually asks for it 😂😂 normally it’s really clear on the ‘must have toys’ lists but haven’t spotted anything this year! So predictions are welcome!!

Gabby's doll house will be popular and I think the little live pet mama surprise guinea pig will be popular

Not in the know just speculating

I’m hoping it’s not gabbys doll house. We have two massive dolls houses , lol house and peppa house . 4 year old has expressed am interest in gabbys one 😭 it looks very flimsy 😭

I think Pokémon items will be a big hit and the large squishmellows !

I have no idea, my kids have never really gotton into must haves but maybe thats because I have older boys and my girls too young (almost all must haves seem to be aimed at girls).

It is always interesting to see what they are though.

Oh I think Buzz Lightyear and Jurrasic World stuff will be popular... not necesserily 'must have' popular but definately more popular than the last few years.

I have already heard other school mams complaining about the rise in the cost of dinosaur toys since the new Jurrasic Park film came out in June and there lots of Buzz Lightyear stuff in the shops again.

Crap. Both things she's asked for. I need to get my skates on I reckon!

We'd already decided Gabby's Dollhouse was our big present for both girls to share. Had been keeping it in basket for price alerts but think will just order. Out of stock some places. I didn't actually realise it was so popular. Ours have been watching it about a year or so but toys are new out.

Another vote for Gabby. I’ve already bought ours as I was scared it would sell out.

@DeadButDelicious

I'm still trying to convince myself it's ok to spend £65 on the guinea pigs she wants to keep the Santa magic alive. It just seems so expensive for what it is

Maybe the vTech Jotbot

Well we've had a guess at:

The Playmobil People preppers set (tiny camping stoves and powerpacks included)

Postman Pat and his black and white cat go on strike. Jess calls in Thomas the Tank Engine as a flying picket

A toy sweet shop that becomes the main source of food for a family of four over the Christmas period

My DD6 wants the guinea pigs (we have real live guinea pigs ffs) but I just can't justify the cost, she said Santa will get it for her when I said it was too expensive for her birthday 🙄

@17caterpillars1mouse have u signed up to the Entertainer jaks birthday club? You get an email 3 weeks before the child's birthday with a 20% off code, it'll take it to £50ish. You can register up to 10 children.

Not a toy, but Air-Up water bottles are all the rage at my kids' school!

It's hard to say what will be popular this year, there's still lots of stock issues still (shipping/factories in China have been closed for large lockdowns). As with the others I think Mama suprise guinea pig, gabbys dolls house, anything Encanto, lanky box toys and Nintendo switches.

It will be some random overpriced toy that toy companies tell the media is the 'most wanted' even in though most kids won't have heard of it until The Sun does an article about it.
Parents will buy it.
Parents will do stupid things like pay twice the price from eBay.
The children won't take any notice of it after Boxing Day.
Their actual favourite Christmas presents will be some Play Doh, the bubble bath they got in their stocking, a pack of new felt tip pens they don't have to share with their siblings and a Hot Wheels Car.
I used to sell toys for a living 😂

Ive already bought Gabbys dollhouse too, was too scared it would sell out.

Thanks to a lovely poster on another thread I setup an entertainer account for the birthday code and got 20% off
Just set the birthday for more than 3 weeks away.

@BeautifulDragon Do you know if the AirUp bottles are any good? My daughter has asked for one but there seems to be ALOT of bad reviews? DOn't fancy wasting such alot for a plastic water bottle if they aren't any good.

Airup bottles are crap, a wasted £50 once we bought cartridges etc and the child who begged for it has left on kitchen side after 2 tries over summer.
If I mention it she cries!

Oh wow, think I saw an advert for air up!! They are expensive!! Is it just the official website that sells them? uk.air-up.com/products/hot-pink-bottle?gclid=Cj0KCQjwyOuYBhCGARIsAIdGQROr8Q8WW2gQ1VGyLylKmrwJYfynTaqFDHj2xArMwHLP0I0AgV85rF4aAtUOEALw_wcB

might actually be ideal for my 10 going on 16 niece who is very much into trends .. however agree that wasting money on expensive plastic rubbish is not what I want to do!!

I just looked at a review someone wrote on the Air Up bottle saying the peach had no flavour so they bought the lime which tasted like soap ... so they've ordered the cola to try instead!! I'd have given up and gone with tap water and ice by the second try
