How important is it to brush your baby’s/ toddlers Tongue and teeth?
Do you struggle with doing that?
What products do you use?

Our dentist didn't mention brushing DD's tongue so I don't know about that.

I gather it's particularly important to brush after their last milk before bed as otherwise the milk pools around their bottom teeth overnight. I had problems doing this as it disrupted DD's sleepiness but it's become the norm now. I feed her in her bedroom and have the toothbrush there in the room ready to brush straight after the feed before I put her in her cot.

We then brush in the morning after first feed but before breakfast.

DD is 17m but quite small. We've tried a few toothbrushes but find the Colgate one best as it's small so easier to get in comfortably. Then Aquafresh milk teeth toothpaste but the tiniest amount possible.

We used a Brush baby chewable toothbrush once the dc started getting teeth. Brush baby make lots of other useful baby /toddler toothbrushing stuff.

We used the brush baby chewable toothbrush with the brush baby apple mint toothpaste. Once DS turned 1 we switched to the brush baby electric toothbrush which lights up and buzzes. He was really interested in our toothbrush before this so he really likes having his own.

We brush before bed and after breakfast. There's some resistance sometimes but I make sure to give his 7 teeth a once over and then I let him take over. He's at the stage where he wants to do everything himself atm!

As he gets more teeth I think it'll take longer for me to brush so we'll see

•Where how it goes. I'm thinking the next step might be one of those brushes with the app to see how well you're doing.

I want to make toothbrushing less of a chore as I absolutely hated it when I was little and still resent it a bit now.

•interrupted by DS!
