talked to parents of child with bottle today and mum was upset for me
she works for council so is going to write a strong letter to ofsted on my behalf saying her son has a bottle because he wont use a cup and as he has fits (he has had 17 up to now, heat related) she want to get lots of liquid down him as poss
this was explained to me by her and she will say that i was just doing as she the parent wished
after all parents know best

fire plan
useful phone numbers (socal services etc)
first aid kit (travel one too)
certifcate of reg on disply
all other certifcates (mine are in a folder)

if you are not working yet phone them
if you are working have out
photos of children
art work that has been done
letters from parents

make sure your bathroom is free from hazards ie razors, purfume, bleach etc

make sure your kitchen (if children have excess) has cupboard locks on, medcines are high up, mop bucket is away etc

make sure outside gates are locked and the outside is sercure, shed is locked, bikes are in shed, hazzords are put away

safty gates, fire guard are in place

make sure if bedrooms are ofsteded that your makeup, purfumes, lotions are away, mirrors are attached to walls

most of all relax and enjoy the children (easy for me to say i nearly threw up yesterday) but remember if you are confident in your work let it show ofsted are only in your home for 2-3 hrs let them feel your knowledge

Now I am really nervous for my first check! I got a call that it would be next month, as I hadn't really started quite yet (being messed about).

What should I have in place?
