well, I had completely given up yesterday, and today I went out to the broody hen thinking I'll just have to take the eggs from under her (sob)
but I found a chick there!
and this afternoon a second one!
either my maths is completely screwed or she has been in a time warp or it's all nonsense about hens taking 21 days to hatch.
anyone else had this? will there be nore hatched tomorrow- to think I nearly threw them all away!

she came completely off and they went cold, so I took them away...we don't have an incubators and I guess if they've gone completely cold they will be dead anyway. Im happy enough just to have two! they are so sweet!

Ours hatched over nearly a week - and didn't start until about day 22!

We did end up taking the last eggs from her and finishing them in an incubator because she'd lost interest, crapped on them and moved onto teaching her new babies how to scratch, peck and drink!

It was quite easy to do - but we also needed a heat lamp for them for the first 24 hours because she wouldn't sit still for long enough for them to keep warm and dry off.

Maybe try float testing the remaining eggs? That should tell you if they're viable.
