Have any of you had any problems with your neighbours and your hens? We just moved house and mentioned to our new neighbour that our hens would be joining us soon. She was clearly unimpressed. I did notice the girls were quite squawky this morning so I'm bracing myself for some kind of response from next door. Shame cos our old neighbours all loved them!

Just hens. They squawk usually when laying but unfortunately that's in the morning! Will take some eggs round, good idea.

Just hens or do you have a cockerel? Our neighbour has a cockerel and he drove me mad when he first arrived. I got used to it though, although was very close to asking her to get rid of him at one stage.

Eggs are a sweetener of course, you could offer neighbours some eggs once in a while?

I hope so. We have always kept them clean and have never had rats so hopefully that will continue!

We used to live next door to people with chickens..... They were noisy, stank and encouraged rats in the garden Hmm

We have dogs and I'm sure there are people that hate living next to people with them especially when they play noisily and bark (I try to stop them)

A lot of people around where I live have cats and when we stopped our dogs going into the garden to reseed the lawn the cats crapped everywhere and dug holes. I think different pets are going to wind up neighbours no matter what they are. As long as you keep them clean and watch the rat situation should be fine Smile
