Car seat hater

Helllo

My baby (5mo) seems to hate being in the car. Its not a cradle type (cant be lifted out) so she isnt in it loads. But will cry and not give in on longer journeys. I always make sure she is well fed and in comfy clothing with a clean bum before car trips.

Does anyone else have this issue? Did you grin and bear it? I tries sitting in the back between two rear facing seats (not easy) but its not always possible.

My other daughter had never been any trouble in the car except for first few weeks. Baby has toys etc to occupy her. Nothing seems to ease her. Even when i was in the back she tolerated it.

Ive tried things like taking newborn insert out....

They are buggers I'm afraid. Dd2 was so bad we had to have specified car free days of dd1 and I couldn't hear ourselves think! We used to go out somewhere on the bus.

@TheRealHousewifeofCheshire it lasted until he was about 6 months then he settled down quite a lot. But every baby is different! Try not to let it get to you too much. There's literally nothing you can do once you are driving.

As horrible as it sounds, there's nothing you can do. Life goes on, and like you said as long as baby is clothed, clean and fed then I wouldn't worry. She will eventually get used to it as she gets older! My DS2 always used to cry about 5 mins into the journey and wouldn't stop until I actually get out the car and get him out. Luckily I only went on short journeys but if it was the dual carriageway or somewhere further out, then it can't be helped. So yep, I did grin and bear it.
