Just to add, depending on your car even boosters don't fit all cars, we have an awkward seatbelt arrangement! So it's worth trying before you buy!!

Their best buys are Britax Kidfix SL SICT, Britax Kidfix XP SICT, Cybex Solution M, Cybex Solution M-Fix, Recaro Monza Nova 2 Seatfix, Kiddy Cruiserfix pro isofix. They range from 74-76% in their tests, the highest scores. The last one on the list is a older review (2010), the others were from either Nov 13 or May 15. Hope this helps!!!

Thanks, Dubious. Glad to know he finds it comfortable and that it is Which approved. How long ago did you get them?

They range from about £90 to £150 depending on the model. Check the latest Which? report if you can. The ones we have are a few years old and aren't in the current range so I can't link to them.

We have the Britax Kidfix for both our dc now aged 7 and 9. It is isofix. We chose it based on it being a Which? Best Buy at the time.

We have recently checked with the 9yr old if he is still happy in the seat (as he is above 135cm so technically could manage without) and he said he didn't want to stop sitting in it as it was nice and comfortable. Plus it shows no signs of wear, moves easily between cars and can be used with or without the isofix fittings.

Highly recommended.

If you're looking for long term use, I'd recommend the recaro Monza nova 2. It will take a child up to 140cm, so above the legal minimum of 135cn. You can also plug an iPod in so older children are still happy using the seat. My just turned 10 is nearing the limit but still fits easily! You can also use it with or without isofix so it doesn't rattle around the backseat when empty!
