How do you make it onto the list of blogs?

OK, so I have been accepted as a Mumsnet blogger :) I've put my little Mumsnet button on my webpage and made sure I'm following the rules... I even write the thing! Wink But my blog isn't appearing in the list of existing Mumsnet blogs here Do I just need to do something to get it on the list, or do I just need to be patient?!

Meanwhile, here it is: Stuck in the Sandwich - about my experiences as a single mum who's also recently had to take on caring for my elderly (and now dying) father. Not always cheery reading, I admit, but there IS humour, honest! Wink And I guess more and more of us are finding ourselves in this 'sandwich generation'.

I think that the MN blog list was the list of those who had a MN blog, ie. were written on MN itself rather than on eg. blogger or wordpress.

Not sure if they are going to be updating that though.

I'm not on it either. In fact, I'm finding the whole bloggers network thing a bit bewildering.

oh, I love your blog. So funny and moving at the same time.

Yes, that appears to be a list of bloggers who blog using MN.

Chickens, I do think they sort of launched the network and then have done nothing with it.

Thank you, MmeLindor, how kind.
And yes, chickens! It's not much of a network if they leave most people out, is it? Though from their point of view, they get free promotion from all of us if we put one of their buttons on our page...

same here, its a mess. i now feel all, well, most of last night's flaming of me was down to this confusion

I have to say, thefoodschool, that is not why you were flamed.

It wasn't because of what your blog is about or the fact that people did not know you were on the blogging network but your attitude when you posted. You came barrelling in with the attitude that you are the only one earth, or on MN at least, who cooks from scratch and are a parent. It had very little to do with being a man and everything to do with your tone.

I wondered this too. What's the point of all of us bloggers/wordpress etc lot applying to join?!

I just started this thread in Site Stuff to try to get some answers, since MNHQ doesn't seem to be reading the Blogger threads!!

Tee2072 I reported your post so MN could see what you wanted; which is a quick way of contacting them

You could also have emailed them on [email protected]

They really can't read all the posts

Tee2072 · 19/06/2011 13:45

Yes, thank you Katy, I realize this. I wasn't asking for an immediate response, you realize, just a response in general.

They are actually, usually, quite good about answering things.

Thanks for your condescension. I haven't had enough of that today.

They do read the posts on Site Stuff, as that's what it's for, and it allows other people to add in their thoughts on the matter.

Reporting a post is a quicker way to get their attention, it's true.

Tee2072 · 19/06/2011 13:48

Yes, it is quicker. But this was hardly an emergency, now was it?

A blogging emergency!

It was important enough for another thread - which tbh they might not have seen for quite a while

They often don't see what's on site stuff; esp at weekends

Tee2072 · 19/06/2011 14:41

Well, it was important enough to bring up on another thread, that will probably be seen tomorrow. It was hardly important enough to report using the report feature.

I can't believe I'm arguing about this. How stupid and what a waste of time.

I apologise for interferring

Lets not fight about this. KatyMac is was not being patronizing, she was trying to help by reporting the post. No, it is not an emergency but they are more likely to see it if it has been reported. Hope that they get back to us with some answers to the questions. I did post a thread about general blogger network conditions so do have a look there.

Generally I have understood MNHQ's position that the Network is to share experiences and post with each other, not to promote our blogs (which of course we are doing at the same time)

Saying that, unless there is a list of blogs from MNetters in the BN, it is not really clear if we are getting any more than the chance to meet up with other bloggers.

Hi all, how's everyone today? We've answered this in site stuff but thought it best to post here to.

We have had a few emails this weekend regarding names not coming up on the bloggers network. This is something we have to talk about with the tech team and the rest of the editorial team. Unfortunately this means you may not get a response until tomorrow.

Sorry about that, we'll get back to you ASAP.
Enjoy the rest of your sunday :)

It should probably be me handing out chocolate, MmeLindor, but yours looks so yummy, thanks! Wink
