Looking at UK holiday August 2021

Black families - your UK holiday ideas for me please. Single parent with 2 teenagers 13/15 who like sport, nice beaches and activities to do and see. Somewhere you've been and you and your children loved it! Preferably not a holiday park unless the immediate facilities / sites and activities outside the park are amazing!
Thanks

@Denzelstowel

Yes I keep browsing and then take a break when I feel deflated at the prices .. I also considered that this year might just be a long weekend instead- but yes I'm still looking. Thanks 😊

I'd like to suggest you look at 2/3 night mid week breaks and explore luxury caravans. Usually we go overseas stay in a 5star hotel. To do the equivalent in the UK didn't make sense.
So we opted for our very first caravan holiday last year - we kept an open mind, took lots of bed linen and cleaning stuff. It was great, the site was easy to find, the caravan was clean and bigger than we expected. We've upgraded to a luxury caravan for this year.

How are you getting on with holiday @Denzelstowel ? We’ve been looking for the summer and decided we’re going to do two weekend mini breaks instead of a full week and look for October instead.

Cornwall, specifically Perranporth and Polzeath if you want somewhere quieter. Newquay and St Ives if you want somewhere livelier. Also look at Wales. We’ve been to Anglesey when the kids were younger. Lovely beaches. Try the Gower Peninsular in Wales too, might be better for teenagers. Wells-next-sea in Norfolk is great too but not sure what it’s like for teenagers.

Regarding north Norfolk, we have always rented a self catering cottage. I’ll link one we’ve been in before- brace yourself; I went to look an book for this summer and I feel I may need to remortgage first!

Thank you everyone - if you have links to places you've stayed with teens that would be great. I know many holiday places are not usually diverse but if you have been there with your children and felt comfortable that's what I'm looking for. Thanks

I’m with @NurseButtercup we have enjoyed Cromer and sherringham. However I couldn’t comment on how busy these locations would be in the summer holidays as we have been may/ October. Having said that I think lots of places will be busier this year!

I am thinking of Whitstable in June. Driven through it before.

Peak District has served us well over the years!

I can recommend East Anglia for the beaches - we take our own activities for the kids.
