5 month old - Brushing teeth

Hi all,

Our LO bottom incisors are coming through - one has cut through, can see it out but not fully and the other is on its way out. She is 5 months old tomorrow and was wondering what do we do, do we start brushing once they've come through as the gums will be swollen from the other one coming through or once one of them comes through fully or start now?

Do we just use a muslin cloth with water or actually use small smidge of toothpaste?

Clearly I've no clue!

I just bought a baby toothbrush and baby toothpaste and started brushing her teeth. Started at 6 minths when teeth came through.

I also found (a what I hope will be preventing future tantrums) that having a toothbrush to chew on and play with helps.

Our LO has his own but obv prefers ours to chew on when he sees us brushing. So we just give him, he "brushes" for bit then gives back and so on. We do this fun twice a day plus he gets a brush at bath time but no wrestling, as much as he lets me and done. He likes to chew on a toothbrush for teething (he has had one since 5-m).

Look up baby finger tooth brushes . They are brilliant ( until they start bitting down but I still got a good 4-5 months out of mine).

I used baby toothpaste ( found in boots ) but my little one didn’t get teeth until 7/8 months so before they are on solids I have no idea.
