How do you pronounce Elke?

Or Elk?

Like the first one, is v pretty; Elk on the other hand, erm, I'm not so sure about.

Another family have Emma, Greta and erm, forgot the third DD.

But you know what I mean, all my age group (around 35-45) British women are called Elaine, Audrey, Lynn, Jackie, Linda. In Germany they are Elke, Ute, Tanja, Renate, Susanne...

At the moment popular German girl names are

It is a bit old fashioned here in Germany, most Elkes are about 40 - 50 yo.
