Which name for baby brother?

Looking for a name for baby boy due in 7 weeks!

Names we really like so far are:
Harrison
Logan
Rowan
Jude

We have a common, one-syllable surname and his big sister is called Darcy.

Middle name will likely be a family name as DP is quite traditional that way, so Graham, Patrick, and Douglas are all in the running if he gets his way but nothing is set in stone yet!

Do you think any of the above names go with Darcy? Or do you have any other names you think we would like? Thank you! Smile

Jude is a nice name, but with a 1 syllable surname it might sound a bit staccatoand unfinished. I'm going to pretend your surname is Smith as it's one syllable long

Harrison Smith sounds a lot better than Jude Smith

I like all the names but less sure about Darcy and Jude. It reminds me of characters in a Thomas Hardy novel. My favourite is Rowan, pronounced Ro-an

Logan of Rowan. Jude is such a strange name given the meaning.

I have a Jude always get comments about how lovely it is!

I wonder if everyone has subconscious pleasurable associations with the song?

I’ve only ever heard of Rowan for a girl pronounced with the start rhyming with cow/now/how so not a fan of it for a boy. Absolutely love Logan and for years it was my top name for a boy but it got very popular and my sister actually named her son this! (I ended up having 2 girls anyway so no issue in the end) love Harrison and Jude and think they both go really well with Darcy. I’d say my favourite from your list is probably Jude :)

Darcy is a lovely name
You have a great list for your son

Harrison : love. Think this goes well with Darcy and like the nn options.
Logan : nice enough
Rowan : prefer for a girl but I wouldn't use this name anymore now that Roman with an M is so trendy popular. Number 23 in charts and still rising. Nice enough though.
Jude : I'd stick with this if this has been your fav a long time. It's a lovely choice and works well with sibling name. I bet your family will probably love it in a few months anyway. I've heard this before, family put someone off using their fav name but then after a few months turn round and say "oh why didn't you pick that, I really like it now". I think you'll regret not using. Great choice.

Rowan definitely!

Rowan is a girls name to me pronounced with row rhyming with cow. I prefer Rohan for a boy. Somehow it seems less flowery.

I love Rowan, it's a gorgeous name. That's my top pick. I also like Jude. I'm not a fan of Harrison at all, sorry. I don't mind Logan but I don't think it's as nice as Rowan or Jude.

Out of those, Logan or Rowan. Detest the name Jude. I do like Harrison and was going to name my daughter that (when I thought she was a boy) but I would have used Harry day to day.

I’d go for Patrick - very underused

I really like Rowan and Jude, but the first is really overused and Jude getting very popular

Even though your mum and sister aren't keen on Jude, to be perfectly honest, you will not ever please everybody all of the time! They will get used to it.
What a boring world if we all liked the same names/things!

I have an 8 month old Rowan so would obviously vote for this! We had lots of compliments from friends and family on his name when he was born. At the moment he goes by Ro though :)

Logan

With a one syllable surname I definitely think a two syllable first name works better so Rowan or Logan sound best imo.

Some family members will say they don't like names but once the baby it's born it won't matter any more, they'll love the little boy and that will be his name so they'll get used to it! Don't let that put you off.
I love Jude (big Beatles vibes from this)
Don't like Harrison at all sorry. Rowan is quite nice too!
