he didn’t look like any of them Hmm don't all babies look similar, like a baby? Do they really ever look like a certain name??

I don’t think babies look the same at all? It’s like saying all adults look the same, like an adult. To me, he just didn’t look like he suited the name I thought I was going to call him. It might just be how my mind works, I think of things visually and certain names conjure up certain images, some people have this with names and smells. I’m obviously a bit of weirdo!

Honestly I wouldn’t worry until he arrives! We had a few names picked out and he didn’t look like any of them and went for something completely different!!

What's the problem in finding a name? If it's disagreeing with a partner, something like the Kinder app (like Tinder for names) might help you come up with a shortlist in a collaborative way. If you like some names but don't love any or nothing feels right, then consider waiting until the baby is here and he might suit a name. If you just dislike all names then I'd go for something boring and classic like James, George or Alexander as they are inoffensive, classless and while he might not love his name, he's unlikely to be troubled by it either.

But if none of those apply, here are some of my favourite boys names:
August
Benedict
Edmund
Lysander
Orlando
Robin
Rufus
Stellan

Help us out a bit OP.

Do you like biblical names?
Is there are connection to a specific country in your family that mean names from that place would be an option.
Are there any types of names you love or hate, eg surnames as names or single syllable names etc.

Without being too nosey what will be his last name? Some names will probably suit better with a certain surname

Look at your grandfather's names or their brothers.

For middle name - your dad's name, or your maiden name if married

Look at names that aren't currently popular. Try,
Philip
Peter
Andrew
Michael
Anthony
Alan
Nicholas
Timothy
Jeremy
etc

as they will seem fresh amongst all the Alfies, Elijahs and Ezras

Have you ruled any names out? Any definite can’t use names?
any initials you’d rather avoid?
did you have a list of names when you were early pregnant that you’ve discarded? Are they worth revisiting?

Joseph
Isaac
Oliver
Benjamin
Toby
Joel
Robert
Max
Samuel
Nicholas

If I had a boy next week his name would definitely be Sebastian. It was on my shortlist for my DC but I didn't use it and now am regretting that a bit! Other names I'd consider: Alexander, Leo, Milo, Ethan and Nathanial.
