Myles Alexander or Miles Alexander?
31

BHCU1343 · 10/05/2022 23:38

Miles is a measurement yet a popular spelling. However Myles is equally very popular and more name like perhaps. The middle name is Alexander - please share thoughts?

Miles. I don't know why but Myles with a y always looked more American.

I think he'll aways have to correct people or spell it out if you go with the Y version.( I have an unusually spelled surname and it's an annoyance).

Miles, it’s the spelling most people will default to.

I prefer the look of Miles, both both are nice and I like the combination. Either way, you'll be asked about the spelling, but that's the way with many names.
(I have a very run of the mill old English name and I'm still asked in case it's the other, less common spelling, which is polite, I think)

How wonderful!

Here is my baby Miles Alexander (as newborn)

We went for i as I was told by my friend who is a teacher that they have a couple of Myles who always have to correct the spelling for.

We have a Myles, family name for generations - absolutely not an Americanism!

Myles looks ‘yooneek’ to me.

It does to me too. Also, I might wonder if it was a different name and pronounced My-lees. Miles is classic and elegant.

Love Alexander.

Miles. Myles just looks a bit made up to me. Feel the same about Robin / Robyn, Leila / Layla etc.
