So DS name could be … ‘Mungo’. It’s Celtic for loveable too.

My understanding is that she has a daughter, whose name means ‘lovable’ so now she is having a son and wants a name that means ‘lovable’ for him too.
She looked it up and someplace said that Mungo was ‘Celtic’ for lovable.

To clarify, it’s for a BOY. I mentioned that my DD’s name means loveable, which I believe Mungo also means.

It’s definitely intended for a boy though. Sorry some folk got confused there x

I met a 13 y o DS with that name this summer, who seems to have a decent degree of self confidence. It is a saint's name, so very much a proper christian name, just not perhaps the most attractive-sounding one...

3luck There's no such thing as 'Celtic'. There's Scottish Gaelic, and Irish and Welsh and Cornish and Breton. And 'Brittonic' - an early language related to Welsh spoken in SW Scotland /NW England. All are related, all have differences.
Whatever you think the name Mungo has origins in Brittonic. Fact.
On the other hand, most babyname websites are full of errors.

It’s unclear whether this is for a boy or a girl?? Your OP mentions a name for your DD and then that your DS could be called Mungo???
It’s awful for a girl, please don’t.
It’s a bit better for a boy but is still more a name for a pet in my opinion. There is a cat it TS Lewis that’s called MungoJerry and that’s all I can think of.
I’d never pick it myself.

I'm Irish, in Ireland, and I've heard of it so I don't think it's that unusual, but it's for a boy surely?

If DS then much the same as Magnus - mildly eccentric out of Scotland perhaps, but if you happy with that - crack on. (But maybe give him a standard middle name in case he doesn’t appreciate your taste.)
