Milk not drying up - Please Help

Hello. First time mum here.
I am not breastfeeding, however I still have milk leaking on a regular basis. I am 2 weeks post-partum and am now on antibiotics for mastitis. It's so painful and I know when the milk is coming out because I get a searing pain in both nipples.
I've tried the cabbage leaves, Nurofen and the firm support bra but can't seem to stop the milk.
Any suggestions at all?

@ViceLikeBlip Ah thank you for telling me that! I had no idea what 'letdown' meant.
I had a high temperature yesterday so currently on antibiotics. I also had a C-Section and was just beginning to feel better until now. Hopefully antibiotics do the job and it doesn't get worse (fingers crossed)

Apparently Epsom salts will do it. The midwives used to suggest it to young girls who didn't want to breastfeed.

Ps that searing pain is what people refer to as "let-down", and it's awful isn't it?! I remember all I had to do was so much as THINK "I wonder if the baby needs a feed soon" and my boobs would be on fire.

The GP can prescribe something to stop milk production (this was the only thing that helped me with recurrent mastitis when I stopped breastfeeding) x

Press on with the ibuprofen regularly and your other interventions. If you develop a high fever speak to your doctor

Mine took several weeks. I used very warm flannels to help with engorgement and that seemed to help with the searing nipple pains and painful letdown. I also did gentle breast massage during letdown to stop my ducts from blocking up again causing mastitis.
I also agree with a previous poster. Do keep an eye on the mastitis even though you’re on antibiotics at the moment.

Are your breasts hard/hot to touch? If so, you may need to go back to the doctor as mastitis can get secondary infections quickly. If a milk duct is blocked by pressure or infection, then it can cause quite serious problems & will be very sore. If you can alternate between hot and cold compresses, that should help Thanks

It takes a little time. Warm baths if your uncomfortable.
The firm support shouldn’t be too tight as it can apply pressure that increases risk of mastitis.
Breast pads until production stops.
