To go on long car journey if DD vomiting not long ago?

Meant to be leaving today for holiday/visiting family. It's a 5/6 hour drive. We have an air bnb booked.
Last night DD9 had a tummy ache and then vomited after going to bed.
She vomited again in the night.
No temperature, no other symptoms and she said the tummy ache went even before the vomiting.
She's hasn't vomited for a long time, not since reception!
There was a party at school last night where she ate a few sweet things, and then she Came home for dinner and had some fruit very soon before going to bed.
So we thought at first indigestion, but after the second bout of vomit I thought maybe something she ate, or maybe a bug?
But this morning she seems a lot better.. though not 100%, waiting to see how sipping water affects her. So far she's been up for about 45 mins and nothing has come back up. She says she just feels a bit weak, which i imagine is dehydration.
So we can wait a few hours, see how she is, and just leave quite late or is it best to just delay to tomorrow? We're short on time so for such a long drive want to make the most...

DD hasnt vomited since about 2am last night but we decided to stay at home in the end as she was still a bit nauseous and weak.
Hoping we aren't next and everyone is 100% to go tomorrow.

I’d wait a few hours, see how she is this morning and if by lunchtime she seems fine, then go.

This is the plan for now. But suspect we'll end up delaying to tomorrow. We're all completely exhausted!

My DH had unexplained vomiting. Tested positive for covid the next day… so there may be a new strain going around that affects some people with vomiting.

Just worth bearing in mind if the relatives you’re visiting are vulnerable.

I considered this. Will definitely test as I also know of other children who have presented with vomiting first with Covid. They elderly relatives have all actuslly just had covid recently but obviously one cant be sure of immunity.

I wouldn’t. Firstly because how would you feel having to do a long journey when you’ve been sick in the night? I couldn’t imagine anything worse to be honest! And secondly I don’t think it’s fair to whoever it is you are visiting. Children can have bugs and things like that and only be sick a couple of times with it, and if you turned up at my house potentially spreading germs I would be fuming! I would leave it until she’s been free of any symptoms for at least 24 hours.

We aren't staying with anyone, we have our own accommodation and as we're visiting eldery fanily would definitely leave it for a good 24 hours before stopping by to see them.

I drove 400 miles with a teenager who started the journey feeling a bit peaky. Ended up stopping four times with an increasingly distressed vomiting teen and a sibling trying hard not to join in.

Didn't have a choice - work commitments meant we couldn't just stop and bunk down somewhere en route. You do have a choice, choose wisely.
