Your weekly active Fitbit minutes? Are mine low

I came across a thread about this on MN and everyone seemed to be on an average of 400-500 weekly active minutes per week!!
I set my goal as 150. And usually hit 200-300 .
400 has been my top one!

I dont get how everyone is getting it so high?! I consider myself as very active..in the gym at least 4 times a week. Doing classes ornweigt lifting. On top of that we will walk to the park and take the dog for walks. Although, not as much as Id like to.
Also, walk around in work but it doesnt give me active minutes probably as im.not in fat burning zone.

Just feel a bit rubbish if people think 400-500 is standard and easily achieved!

What are everybodys?

I often have over 1000 active zone minutes a week 😳😳 and I have quite a low resting heart rate too, usually around 58-59 BPM. I do a lot of exercise though, I swim about 10 miles a week and also train in the gym 3 times a week and try to get some brisk walks in as well.

I've just looked at mine and the only time it's ever over 400 is if I've cycled that week and then it hits 600-700. I do lots of walking/hiking each week, 15k steps a day, 5-7 HIIT sessions with weights each week, but always between 300-400 unless I've cycled.
So maybe it's the type of exercise you're doing compared to others that is making the difference.

I worry my active minutes are too high and I'm a heart attack waiting to happen. I get fat burn minutes sitting on the couch watching TV. I don't go to the gym or do official exercises and average 500-600 active minutes weekly. I do live in a city and walk a lot so that's technically exercise. Still, I shouldn't get cardio minutes for folding laundry. My daily heart rate is usually upper 70s and drops to 62 at the lowest when I'm asleep. I am an anxious person so I assume that's the reason for the active minutes doing nothing.

My average heart rate according to Fitbit is 55-57 if that helps.

I get most of my minutes on runs and hikes, so maybe it is about activity type. It definitely doesn’t show short bursts eg under ten minutes, short break, another ten like you might get in sport or interval training.

I have 152 active minutes for today so far. But can’t see me getting any more now!

@Macbeth8 my OH aid the same as you, infuriatingly low HR 🤣 He also records less active minutes than me but overall is probably healthier - I would take a lower HR over more minutes any day! I do have an active job which helps - when I had a sedentary job it was a lot lower.

Thanks its reassuring to know.
Cant believe some people are getting over 500!!!
My resting heart rate is always pretty low. Average is 50-52bpm.
Once when I was hospitalised, the hospital wouldnt discharge me because heart rate was so low! Apparently, it shows I am extremelynfit though? As I had all the tests done and then when asked about my fitness snd fitness background (ex gymnast and played in sport teams) they just put it down to me being an ex Athlete 😅
So can this be a factor as to why my heart doesnt raise quickly?

I'm pretty active - I have a relatively sedentary job but I play two sports so I train every day, sometimes twice a day, but because of the frequency the intensity has to reduce accordingly. I'm not sure how many minutes I hit on Fitbit but it definitely isn't 400. Fitbit seems to score some things really high (steady state cardio like a brisk walk) and other things don't register (weight training, gymnastics etc) unless added manually.
I presume it's to do with heart rate, the things I do tend to have short intense bursts of activity then recovery time and it isn't the 'right' kind of activity for Fitbit.
I mainly use Fitbit to keep steps up and to help understand my sleep quality, as others have said comparisons aren't always helpful so don't worry about scores!

Mine are 600-900 per week but it as people have said, it doesn’t track short bursts so misses quite a lot. It’s more about comparison with yourself over time than overall totals IMO (so are you becoming more or less active).

My average is about 100 per week - I walk 5 miles a day!

Sorry, you asked for figures - mine fluctuate massively depending on what I do at work so anywhere from 125-600 but averages around the 350 mark

Since I got a new Fitbit and it changed active minutes to zone minutes I get hardly any anymore. I much preferred the active minutes, don't think I ever got anywhere near 600 though!

I aim for 450; very rarely get below this. I am not as active as you - I run 3x week for a bit over half an hour, and walk/garden quite a lot. It's all based on heart rate isn't it? I'm one of those people with a low resting heart rate that peaks quickly when I'm active but drops back again pretty fast so I don't have to be working that hard for it to pop up to Fat Burn.

Are you superfit? Do you think your Fitbit is correctly tracking your heart rate? Is all your personal data in your Fitbit correct (primarily age and gender) as your target cardio/fat burning ranges are based on these.

There are a number of reasons that you might not be getting the same activity figures as other people, but the comparison isn’t always helpful - check that everything is logging correctly and if you still want to up your minutes I think you’ll have to increase your intensity, but the Fitbit is a tool for you, don’t let it dominate your thoughts 😆

Since it doesn't start counting your active mins until 10 minutes of continous exercise I don't think.its a good measure. Mine often misses out my HIIT sessions as exercise...

Mine are anywhere between about 250 and 600. I don’t drive so walk a lot which helps and I try to get 10,000 steps a day. I generally do between 3 and 5 days at the gym for about 45 mins at a time and I run twice a week.
