Spotty body Dh with cold sores and lump in neck

What’s wrong with him?

Dh gets these spots all over his body that lessen but have still been there for ages. He also has recurrent cold sore type things on his lip and now has a small, hard non moveable but painful to touch lump along his jawline.
Should we be worried, what is all this?

Sounds like herpes unfortunately. My DD has the virus thanks to a MIL who wouldn’t listen. The only difference is she gets sores in her mouth. It flares up intermittently often off the back of her having another virus like a cold. But it would probably be best to get a docs opinion.

I don’t know how useful this is as his sores are outside the mouth but I use colloidal silver spray which clears DD’s up in a few days.

I always get a lump on my jawline if I get a coldsore on my lower lip. Is he rundown? If he has no idea what the spots are and he has them all over then a call to the gp would probably be a good idea.

Spots can also be fungal infection, depends what they look like really.

Swollen lymph node in the jaw line, it's very common and usually goes away after a few days/a week.

The spots can be anything and hard to say without seeing them. Could be psoriasis for example. The cold sore is most likely herpes, and it is very contagious. Don't share towels, pillows or anything else that has come in contact with his face, including his hands if he is touching the sores. It's a chronic illness, so once you have it you have it, but it isn't constantly active.

He needs to see a doctor and in the meantime, nobody should be touching, kissing or hugging him, or sharing towels etc. with himS

He needs to see his GP. I would avoid kissing or touching him if it's a herpes flare up.

Herpes can lay dormant for many years OP. He could have contracted it before he met you if it's genital herpes. But cold sores etc are also herpes and can be transferred to people as kids/babies from kisses/ skin contact.

There's lots of ways to get herpes not just sex.

Also as a follow up whilst he is symptomatic don't kiss him or touch his cold sores/lumps or you risk becoming infected yourself.

Herpes can be transmitted by skin to skin contact. The lumps on his jaw line sound like swollen lymphnodes. I'd recommend seeing a doctor but it is likely a herpes flare up.
