Dh living with women...

Macbeth8 · 02/10/2022 15:31

dh had taken new job which requires him to work away elsewhere for 3-4 nights so has had to rent accommodation to make it as cheap as possible

Basically he has found out today there is two women living in this houseshare and 2 men!
I just feel a bit miffed at this.
Hes put me in a really uncomfortable situation. How would you feel if your dh did this?
Its silly but I just keep thinking living with 2 other women who I have no idea what theyre like etc is just strange.

For those mocking the OP, @altmember has quite succinctly analysed why it’s an uncomfortable arrangement for the OP.

I expect those mocking would also feel perturbed if they were facing the same living arrangement but instead are feeling like the Big I Am by taking the piss and apparently making other posters ‘😂’ over their quips.

Yes, a lot of shitty, sneering responses here.
I don’t blame you for feeling insecure OP. Your relationship will be long-distance and he’ll be socialising with other people you don’t know. It’s natural to pause for thought. Hopefully your relationship will
stay strong x

I just spent a week in a houseshare with 7 young men from work.

Don't think it's caused any issues. You know. Adults and trust and all that.

having your dh live like a single bloke for half the week.

Surely that's OK if he's back ibto family life when he's home?

If you don't want to live like this you'll have to move.

Ao you are not worried about cheating, you are just worried he will... Exist in house with other people and watch tv with them?

I don't get it

Like already stated @aaltmember had it spot on. Its not that I think he will be shagging, its the unfamiliarity of having your dh live like a single bloke for half the week. Sharing other people's company instead of your wife or kids!

They all work in the same job bar one apparently.

Fine. If I had genuine concerns about my partner with respect to this they wouldn't be my partner.

Really? I dont see that as the same thing...they will be sharing a bathroom, kitchen and living room. Meaning on some evenings watching TV together, possibly cooking together etc.
I just couldnt do it. Almost seems like going back to Uni days.

Oh no OP! Watching tv & cooking together?
Those shameless hussies will be showing him their ankles, next.

I don't see the issue with this. Presumably he's capable of controlling himself whenever he finds himself in a room with a woman, I don't see why you'd think this meant anything unless he has a history of cheating.

I would be upset my DH had to be away so much of the time, though - it's not really ideal for him or you.

Probably the experiences I've had tbh?Ive lived in two house shares during my life. And it was anything goes...literally!
Housemates shagging after drunken nights out, orgies, strip poker..the lot!
Alot of the female housemates brought back their single mates for drinking games (me incuded) as it was "more the merrier" type of thing..cookouts n house parties!

One female housemate I lived with who ended up being dumped badly by text from her then bf..she was extremely upset crying...other housemates plied her with drink to cheer her up..basically, the next day she woke up in one of the male housemate's bed!
One was a serial male whore and came on to me many times.

I just think if you're fairly young (20's/30's) you could easily end up in those types of situations?!
I have no idea who the women are but from the whatsapp user profile they look to be about mid 20's.

It will be his first week this week.

Yeah guess hes not the most trust worthy as most have pointed out. He's also known to help a damsel in distress- giving lifts, that type of thing.

A “a serial male whore”? What a gross phrase. You sound like you’ve got real issues, OP 😳

Most people are just fed up of a poster saying who repeatedly complains about her shit, selfish, liar of a husband who won't actually do anything about it but drive herself mad with each individual little issue I think.

Why is this uncomfortable? It's the same as being in a hotel ?

My company rented me a hiisecwheb I worked away. I shared it with a couple of blokes and a woman.

Don't you trust him?

Is this a short term arrangement while he’s training for the police or is this the plan moving forward? I think if he’s a shagger then he’s going to find opportunity wherever he is. He could be living at home and having an affair as the many MN threads attest. The police as a workplace provide lots of opportunities for this I’m afraid so if you don’t trust him going forward I don’t see how it will work.

I would never be comfortable with a live in partner working away 3-4 nights per week. I like to live with my partner full time so it would be a no from me

Just to give some perspective.

This is highly unusual behaviour.

Right.
You don't trust your dh.
Might have been pertinent to put that in the OP ?
That is no on the women he is house sharing with.
If he isn't trustworthy then he can have an affair at any point, whoever his housemates are.

So the problem is he can't be trusted to keep his dick in his pants given half a chance?

Yes, because he's been known to
.... help a damsel in distress- giving lifts, that type of thing. Utter bastard. Let them walk in the cold and dark I say, lest a penis accidentally fall into a vagina.

You keep saying it's the house share thing, but if it was just that, you'd care if it were all men too. You don't.

He's sharing a living space, not a bed. If you don't trust him to not cheat on you, the relationship is screwed.

I lived in a houseshare and one man was married and working away from home. We all had our own lives, occasionally made small talk in the living room in passing. He is there to work, I don't think living in a house share with women make him more or less likely to cheat than if it was just men imo.

I’d suggest looking at OP’s pervious posts before commenting. Her husband is a feckless misogynistic prick who drinks too much and cheats and she’s in denial.

Sorry - he’s helped a few women out ‘damsels in distress’ - so he’s not to be trusted?? What does that mean? How has he helped them? By shagging them or something?

Helped them to his penis. 🤣

That's frankly something like fresh 18 year olds would do. No one I know, and I know LOT of people who lived and some still live on sharedhouses had anything like that😂
Orgies with drunk housemates at 30s lol.

Sure
