I am a 26 year old woman and I’m falling for an 18 year old guy! <img border="0" src="/emo/te/5.gif" alt="shock" data-emoticon="shock"> I can’t believe it myself especially since a friend/coworker same age as me started going out with a 20/21 year old guy just before Christmas and I was commenting on his age and how he was so young etc. I now feel ashamed about liking an 18 year old guy who’s even younger! <img border="0" src="/emo/te/5.gif" alt="shock" data-emoticon="shock"> Anyway, the reason I’m asking for advice is because I’m 26 years old. Most people I grew up in school on social media are married or settled in a long term relationship with partners met in their late teenage years 18/19 onwards. So far, I’ve checked, I’m the only one who is still single, isn’t engaged, or married or even has a long term boyfriend. I’ve only been asked to be someone’s girlfriend a few times before, as a teenager and throughout university and early twenties multiple guys showed interest in me. I rejected them because I cared too much what other people thought and I worried too much about what other people would think mainly, I didn’t even give them a chance. I regret this fully because the people I was trying to impress couldn’t give a hoot about what I think of them and their choice of boyfriends and they’ve gone out with people they liked without consulting me like I was trying to do with them. I wish someone had told me to be confident and secure in who I wanted to be with because perhaps I would have been married now. Anyway as it turns out I’ve never been in a relationship before - or done anything with anyone. Never kissed, nothing. I was holding out for someone but they never came. Although multiple guys have tried. The guys I liked, didn’t like me and the guys that liked men weren’t necessarily the guys I want so I’m stuck. So, I like this guy now who I finally want to give everything to. First time I see him, I thought he was maybe around 22 years old. Flirted with him a bit. Then found out he was 18. I’m stuck on what to do. I’ve been trying to think of this logically. I’m 26 year old woman, a few years from now, like 3/4 years from now, I’ll be thinking about starting a family, getting pregnant. An 18 year old guy is not thinking about having kids any time soon. He’s works full time and doesn’t want to go to university but he still lives with his parents. I’ve been to university and I also work but I’m also still living at home with my parents and have lived with them throughout my life even during university years. I don’t know what to do, if it’s a good match or not but he’s the only guy I can see myself with - ever. He’s smart (even though he doesn’t want to go to university, he could have but he comes from an artsy/musical family and prefers to focus more on that). I’m a scientist, I like structure, order. He’s gregarious and talkative. I’m quiet and introverted but his funny, talkative personality and sarcasm are so the opposite of me that I’m drawn to him because of it - he makes me feel happy being in his presence and he’s so lovely and respectful to everyone (literally everyone) he meets even in public - I’ve never seen him being rude to anyone before. YABU - He’s 18!!!!!! Break up with him <img border="0" src="/emo/te/8.gif" alt="blush" data-emoticon="blush"> YANBU - He’s 18, You’re 26, but eh, go for it.
