AIBU?

Will Johnson be gone before Christmas or after?

Sarahlou63 · 07/12/2021 22:38

I'm thinking the 1922 committee grandees will run out of patience fairly soon. So will Johnson stand aside to be a better parent before Christmas or will he continue to drag his party into the shit into 2022?

YABU - hangs on for grim death

YANBU - Who the fuck is Johnson?

@YouGotThisKeepGoing

Apart from anything else, how has the Prime Minister got time to play quiz master? In the middle of everything that was going on last December?

He is so talented he can play quizmaster, ring master, class clown and village idiot all at the same time.

I know a lot of people stopped taking it so seriously the second time around. First few months last year then sure, everyone I knew personally took it very seriously. After they returned our ‘freedoms’ then tried to take them away again, people cared a lot less. I don’t think the people I know are alone with this, I think public support started to dissipate this time last year and it’s only got worse ever since.

As soon as they started introducing pathetic things like ‘bubbles’ people started bending the rules to suit them. The Christmas parties and Cummings have all but ruined any authority the government once had. There’s just no way anyone would adhere to new rules if they suddenly decide to cancel Christmas again now. Forget another lockdown as well, not happening.

@BoredZelda

He's got an 80 seat majority

Until the voters who handed him that victory start bleating then he's pretty safe

Not necessarily. Thatcher won a 102 seat majority, she was gone within 3 years. It isn’t about the voters or the public in general, it’s about who is prepared to stab him in the back.

Michael Gove can step forward for his second stab attempt then :)

What about the well publicised summit in Cornwall where people from all over the World gathered. There was no social distancing or mask wearing to be seen in many of the photos.

Strangely followed by a spike in cases in Cornwall, who would have thought it.

'In that case, what was the nonsense about freedom day, if not simply laughing at the public? You can't seriously think he believed that the pandemic was over?'

He is acting on an ever changing situation fgs, so he wasn't 'laughing at the public' when epidemiologists and other experts told him the risk was low in July so restrictions could be lifted, however he doesn't have a crystal ball and didn't know we'd have omicron in Dec hence the need to push boosters etc.

Are you saying that NBC are misquoting here?

"the U.K.'s chief medical officer, Chris Whitty, has warned of potential "trouble,""

www.nbcnews.com/news/world/freedom-day-england-prepares-reopen-despite-skyrocketing-covid-cases-n1274311

Oh look, it also shows Johnson laughing at us and thinking that the isolation rules don't apply to him, who would have thought it!

You must have more access to the scientists advising the government than I do, but those who spoke in public were very definitely not saying it in July. Indeed the WHO said the UK and freedom day was a threat to the whole world.
One does not need a crystal ball to know that virus mutate.

'Boris is permanently sniggering and unprofessional.Do you hold him to the same standard?'

I have never seen him snigger about the pandemic.

I do hold him to the same standard yes. Still awaiting the incriminating party footage not the Mirror's lame zoom quiz featuring a bottle of sanitizer not 'bubbly'.

'Also i'm not sure why Stratton had to go if there was no parties, if there weren't any, she was just fooling about and no different than any other so called humour we see on the TV.'

It just looked unprofessional and grossly insensitive as if she was laughing at the public.

To be caught sniggering and being so unprofessional in a media room knowing whe was being recorded would show a serious lack of judgement and competence. All adding fuel to the media's witch-hunt which detracts from the serious issue with omicron which should be the media's focus.

The bin bag in the top left was covering up the CCTV. It's been trending on Twitter but we know the TV news and newspapers won't cover this so the oldies who vote Tory won't know about this.

If it's trending on Twitter it must be true.

If I wanted to see a clown fooling around I'd go to the circus.

It may not be the Ministry of Sound but BJ set up a quiz

I've not seen anyone else suggest that BJ set up the quiz. On the contrary, it is said that he only took part in it for a few minutes, so it seems unlikely that he would have set it up.

"it is said........" Downing street said he was only there for a few minutes, we don't know either way.

I don't understand why something that looks like a bin bag or folded up curtain was in the corner of the room.

That photo of Boris Johnson with a couple of people is silly. Some people are trying to look for something that isnt there. However if there is footage of a party with bottle of beer strewn around and people singing and dancing that is it.

Stratton definitely needed to go after her comments though.

It certainly is silly (rather a polite way of putting it) for the Prime Minister in the middle of a pandemic and a self created Brexit crisis to be wasting time on quizzes.

I think the whole go to work, work closely with your colleagues. But once work is done you must jump 2 metres apart and you can’t see the same people for a drink, even if still in the offices you had been working in incase you get Covid was a ridiculous rule.

If someone had Covid then I don’t think they would infect people only after work.

Feel silly that I used to be annoyed at my ex for not voting. He always said he didn't because it didn't make any difference. Feel I need to apologise to him now
