AIBU?

My "lift buddy" has let me down again!

We have a friend whol lives nearby and we both go to the same college - I'm ful time, she's part time.

Every week we give her a lift in for her one lecture, and always turn up on time etc. We never reconfirm or anything, we are always at her house at 8.30 and that is that.

Dh is working (paid! not college) for the next 2 weeks. Today is "results" day, and 3 days ago she said she would take me in to college and drop dd2 at nursery on the way. So this morning I called to say when does she want us round to hers (I wasnt expecting her to come here) and she said that as I didnt call last night then she thought the arrangement was cancelled and she hasnt got time to take me in and take dd to nursery as well. Dh is away to work with the car - which is why I made this arrangement with my friend.

So .. now I have to take dd2 to nursery on the train and bus, and will be late for college, and my friend got a lie in instead.

I feel hacked off with her. We made an arrangement and she let me down. I know its just a little thing, but she does this sort of thing a lot - its always on her terms, and its OK to let me down. We never let her down.

Well done!

Your friend is inconsiderate to say the least. Introduce her to my friend - they should get on like a house on fire!

And will hopefully spontaneously combust.

I feel especially good as dh is also on my course and he is mega-clever - top all the way. Except today, whe I did better than him for only the second time in 4 terms!

Just thought you would like to know my results were great.

Had to take dd2 with me rather than nursery due to the time it takes on Public Transport but she was a little star and everyone loved her, so it didn't matter.

I came top= in the hardest course, which made me feel very good! I am

YANBU stop giving lifts right now - your daughters will still be friends.

What and she couldn't have rang you yourself to check arrangements last night? Sounds like she couldn't be arsed. So YANBU.
Good luck with the results!

It doesn't need to be "you didnt give me a lift, so I'm not giving you one, nar nar", just "as you didnt call last night then I thought the arrangement was cancelled".

So if she really needed a lie-in why didn't she at least let harrisey know last night? Out of order IMO.

Maybe she really needed a lie-in? Her dcs don't sleep .... whatever. I think if there were no mitigating background I'd stop the lifts. Still do play-dates etc. but consider it your dd's friendship, not yours.

I wish that was the case - but she was still in bed! Her dh had got their kids up adn was taking them to school.

Anyway, I need to get off MN and get dd2 to nursery!

Firts things first good luck with your results - are you nervous. Oh fingers crossed and all that

Next it is a shame she is abusing your good nature - thing is you are helping her out! ditch her she is unreliable

Harrisey - that is very annoying - if it's any comfort she may feel really bad too - perhaps you rang as the cat was swallowing the canary, the toast was burning and the window cleaner dropped by to see her hunting for a bra without holes in

All the best with the results!

I know thats probably what I shoudl do - just seems a bit petty "you didnt give me a lift, so I'm not giving you one, nar nar" etc ...

Also her dd is very good friends with my dd1.

I just feel like she should stick to plans, the way we do!

what santa and radley said

Then stop giving her a lift. If she can't be bothered to help you out - and that's a pretty lame excuse - then she is no friend and doesn't deserve your help.

I would be annoyed too, that's really inconsiderate of her.

I would stop giving her lifts whatsover if that is how she wants to play it
