Easter and teenagers/ young adults

For years and years I set up Easter egg hunts with loads of clues and riddles, took me ages to set it all up the night before, or as they got older, early Easter Sunday. The hunt and more difficult clues stopped a year ago and I'm now lazing in bed, it's bliss!!!

That sounds about right punkingscissors, same thing will happen here , the joys of parenting teenagers......it must be some kind of punishment for something?!

Probably, after all we are so dreadful supporting them through exams and meeting their every need,

I haven't done an Easter egg hunt for about 6/7 years now (youngest is 16). Have given my two an Easter egg and sent them a small.token amount of money by bacs. We are not doing a roast or easter baking especially, am loving the low cost low effort day that they now prefer.

My teen came downstairs, grunted, accepted an egg which I suspect he has already eaten. He's now gone out for a walk and that's probably the last i will see of him all day.

Well the egg hunt lasted until 16 years old so not too bad!! still lounging in bed, bliss !

Mine are 11 and 13 and still wanted an egg hunt, the 13 year old is still in bed though so it hasn’t happened yet. They are all hidden though 😀

I have a nearly 16 year old but also a 6 year old so the hunt has never actually stopped. We saw some friends on Friday who brought eggs for both of them. When I went to pass eldest's on he asked if I could save it to hide in the garden today with the others 😂 i did but he won't emerge until 1pm. Hope it won't be frozen solid!

Outrageous!! You're never too old!

I'm 50 and in non covid times I'd be with my extended family today and be on an egg hunt with my cousins and all our kids (organised by my mum & aunties)
Thanks to covid my dc & I have had to accept it's just us 3 in Granny's garden this year

Our 10 year old dragged his teenage sisters and us out of bed at stupid o'clock to check the Easter Bunny trap he had set in the garden yesterday...second coffee and bleary eyes all round.

Having older children is bliss. Am lounging in bed. The two currently at home won't surface until lunchtime. They are also cooking dinner today.

Omg I suggested to my 15 year old maybe the Easter bunny has retired. Was met with a big frown and last night before bed she asked if he might visit?
Still in bed but I'll have to check and suspect he will have. Maybe next year ...

Ds is 16. I got him a hamper with chocolate, sweets, crisps and biscuits.

Mine asked for an Easter egg hunt but I really don’t get them and think they are a bit silly tbh! I would rather just eat the chocolate without the hunt

Lucky you my parents were still doing Easter egg hunts for my siblings and me into our twenties!

Now that we have kids of our own the fun has hopped down to their generation.

Saw one yesterday to give his Easter gin egg to and let his puppy play in the gardens. Seeing one at church today to hear the Banns being read; then back for lunch and dog walk.
Youngest is home for the Easter weekend, which is lovely..
