I've got a little magnifying glass, a little wooden cockerel thing that crows (might regret that one), a little wooden jointed snake, a little wooden rocket, a little dinosaur toy, a card game (snap type thing), a little book and chocolate coins and a pound coin and a clementine!

@ColdRainAgain he can recognise most numbers (0-9) but he’s not in school yet do nothing more than that. Tops trumps would be too much I reckon.

If you're near The Works, they do "farts in a can" (I've just ordered online for the kids stocking) as making Alexa fart is one of their favourite things - they're age 4 and 6

Anything that glows in the dark or lights up is usually considered very cool. I've got my 7yr old a set of neon glow in the dark paints (B&M so don't know how good they'll be!) to paint pictures & paper mache models and put up in his room to see if they glow at night... fingers crossed!

Ooo have you seen the sets where you smash open the Geodes to get the crystals out? Mine have some of them this year, can see them being a major hit! Grin

If there is a Hawkins Bazaar nearby, head there! It's where I do all the stocking filler shopping!

When DC were that age they liked bath crayons - couldn't draw on themselves due to skin condition but could draw/write on the tiles by the bath and then wipe off - used to practice their spellings that way as they thought that was fun rather than work.....

They're so easy at that age! I'll do yours if you do my almost 15 year old son's stocking 😁

Are you near a Hawkins Bizarre? They've always got good stocking fillers in there.

This Sound Effects toy was a great success with my son (the 'evil laugh' is hilarious). I think you can shop around and get it for under a fiver too. Some of the sounds are very funny and they come in different versions but I think the classic one is the best. www.amazon.co.uk/NPW-Sound-Effect-Prank-Toy/dp/B06X43STB4/ref=asc_df_B06X43STB4/?hvlocphy=1006505&linkCode=df0&psc=1&hvnetw=g&hvadid=309911992479&hvpos=1o1&hvdev=c&hvtargid=pla-562749762216&hvrand=149691683309497181&tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21

Smith's had some giant chocolate coins last week (like 6 inches). I've seen similar in M&S before. My u year old went wide eyed at that.

I'd get another small toy or 2, and leave it there. How good are his numbers?? A Top trumps set might work if he's mathematical.

Debenhams had some good stuff. I've got a melting snowman and an insect in a lolly from there, but they had a wide variety of small toys and games.

In B&M bargains they have joke stuff, farting noise can, woopie cushion, mini microphone, mini voice changer etc... think they are about £2.99 each.

What about his own hot chocolate cup?
