So my dd said she would like one of these flasks for school.

I have checked out the pride o t's around £20 for a flask HmmConfused

I'm guessing they are great but even do that's a lot!

Any idea where on earth I can get the same flask (wide at top) for a better price?

Expensive but I'd have to agree worth it. Anything which survives DS flinging his school bag round all day is pretty well made and they do keep food nice and hot (or cold)

Sainsburys often have them at £14, usually a limited range of colours.

Tesco had the Thermos food cafe flasks for £6 recently. However they have a plastic lid and very flimsy spoon. They did not look or feel anything like the quality of the food king version but might be an option if you don't think it's something that will get used often.

There are some sellers on ebay. No idea how genuine but www.ebay.co.uk/i/332866339423

I got my DD's one from either Sainsbury's or amazon for £14

I ended up buying another for my brother but can't remember which shop I got it from.

Well worth the money! She uses it for school at least 3 times a week Smile

Better to spend £20 on one that will last 8+ years than £5 on one that will need replacing after 6 months

If you have a t k maxx near you check there, my local ones usually have thermos in them

We have two, had them for at least 8 years, both get used every school day- I have porridge in mine, DD has got lunch. They are still in fantastic condition, and despite my misgivings at spending £22 on each at the time, they have saved us many many times their cost over the years.

Both my DS's have food in cheaper food flasks because I was shocked at the price of thermos. Both moan about it going cold. We had to throw a full one away because it vacuumed shut and no one could open it! I might have to bite the bullet and get them!

I had a Stanley food flask and it did not keep food hot till lunchtime. My daughter has a smaller Thermos food flask which works really well.

Wilkos have a food flask for £7. It has served us well. I fill it with boiling water while I prepare the food.

YABU - £20 for something that will last years is good value. And if you don't want to pay that then you can Google for cheaper ones.

We have one and definitely worth the price! I've bought ones in the past and food went cold. I used to work as a community carer so had to eat in my car. It was lovely when I bought my Thermos flask and actually had a hot lunch in the middle of winter!

Volcanian- I found the one you linked to on eBay! It is for click and collect at certain Argos shops and the ones I could collect from are no where near me!

Does anywhere have offers on them on a regular basis?

Get one where the inner is steel and not glass. It won't come to harm
when if dropped. It should be a good investment.

Ours is still going strong. It must be at least 8 years old.

Thermos food flasks are the best and well worth the money. They stay really hot and never leak. I looked at Stanley ones and the reviews were not good, they just look similar.

I did a lot of research into this recently as Ds started sixth form and the food is very expensive compared to school dinners he was having.

I watched YouTube videos etc for reviews and we bought the one your DD wants. Saved us a fortune in paying out for lunches. Ds has had hot pulled pork left overs to put on a brioche roll, filled pasta and a tomato sauce, chicken curry, again left overs. Keeps food very hot if you fill it with boiling water first and let it sit for 10 minutes.

Stanley is also a great make of flask. I also use a Thermos King so I know it does a good job. Smaller ones are good as you can fill it full and it retains the heat better.

Thermos anything are noticeably better at keeping stuff hot/cold than any other brand. They are better quality and last longer.

Ebay have the 450ml here for £11.99 and amazon do sometimes reduce the large by a couple of quid

Often they are less bulky than a comparitive product too.
