Will smelling salts help - mouse?

New cat who is about 3 and he keeps bringing in mice. I didn’t know that I hated mice, but something about them running about the house makes me feel faint, I scream and stand on a chair. But even if I control the scream, I still get faint.
Should I keep some smelling salts in the kitchen? Feels so old fashioned, but I really need to get a grip when that happens.

Cats thrive on routine, maybe have a set time he goes out/comes in? My cat will go out at the same times most days, with the exception of very rainy days, in which case she's so filled with rage that I won't stop the rain that only lying all over the spare bed will do.

My nana had them and they used to give me a fab jolt. Looks like they are available but nowadays used by elite athletes
He gets in his catflap with mice. We have a rather large house so I simply wouldn’t know when he wanted to go in or out unless I was in the kitchen itself.
They claim inside the curtain lining of kitchen bifold door curtains and stay there for ages, sometimes bleeding. Cat gets up and pulls curtains down. I was straightening them and there was a mouse still there next morning

I love my cat; but I bloody hate anything remotely rodent-like. Not even squirrels, urgh.

I just simply don't have a cat flap. Cat asks to go out, cat asks to come in. Husband is trained to check she's not carrying anything before the door is opened (after having to deal with me having a full screaming fit when she did once bring something in) as do I.

Mackenzies smelling salts are still out of production as far as I know. You can make your own though.

Maybe police the door and stop letting him in unless you can see his mouth is empty. Disable cat flap. Mice in the house is horrible, I'm with you on that.

My Nan swore by them. Always had them in her handbag.
However, as an owner of a mouse addict cat I ended up getting used to either
A- recognising the "Look I've got a mouse" sound from the cat and not letting him in until the got prey meows stopped (usually 30 mins)
Or
B- Putting on my gardening gloves scooping the mouse up, and putting it back outside.
But yeah, smelling salts seem to work if you are feeling a bit faint.

I don’t think smelling salts are sold anymore. Perhaps don’t stand on a chair if you feel faint.

It may be all the screaming and standing on a chair that's making you feel faint, it's just a little mouse. Ignore it, the cat will get it, you'll never find it when it runs off. Just sit down and keep yourself calm.
