AIBU?

Anxiety and sleepless nights..

Morning All..
First of all this isn't really an AIBU, but posting for traffic..

Im currently 17+3 weeks pregnant with my first child.. we found out we were having a girl 3 weeks ago Smile

However for the past 3 days I've been having stomach discomfort.. now it doesn't hurt in any way, it doesn't effect my day to day routine, but I just know the ache/discomfort is there.. it's mostly on the left hand side just near my hip, moves across sometimes to the right and then back again.. it can go away for a few hours then come back.

Would this worry you?

I also haven't felt her move at all yet.
I'm so anxious I'm struggling to sleep, I've spoken to my partner but he is so excited and optimistic he doesn't fully understand how stressed I am..

Has anyone experienced this? Or could advise me, and reiterate that this is normal (hopefully)
Thank you x

The midwife is not just for the baby but for you too! If your mental health and sleep are affected, then this is a very valid reason to turn to the midwife or GP.

A paediatrician once told me he treats the family, not just the child because it is all interconnected. Reassured parents go a long way to having a healthy child.

Don't worry at all. Xx

Yeh as @BifsWif said definitely call her, that's what she is there for, plus it may put your mind at ease.

Im 25 weeks pregnant and I only just started feeling kicks around 22 weeks as I have an anterior placenta, so don't worry, if yours is too you may not feel it for a good few weeks yet!

Congratulations Thanks

Please call her.

I was anxious in my pregnancy too after a miscarriage, I just couldn’t see me being lucky enough to have a healthy baby at the end of it but I did and I’m sure you will too.

My midwife was a great support, you won’t be wasting her time I promise.

Hi thanks for your reply, ive read so many forums about how normal it is, however I think I've convinced myself this slow ache isn't normal.

I'm never this anxious, I had issues conceiving so maybe that's a factor that's making me more anxious.

I was going to call my midwife however i didn't want to feel like I was wasting anyone's time..x

I had the pains you describe when I was pregnant, try not to worry too much. Everything is stretching and changing in there!

Again I didn’t feel movements until way past 20 weeks first time around.

Are you normally anxious? Could you have a chat with your midwife about how you’re feeling?
