Hubby has taken our dog to a local wood, and lets the dog go for a run.
He goes at different times and different days.
He came home and told me that he has seen the same woman ghost five separate times so far. Tonight with bonnet wearing woman made him jump when she popped up in front of him. When he said 'you made me jump', she smiled nodded and walked away from him.

He was quite serious but I asked why he thought she was a dead/ ghost? He said because she is wearing a long coat and a bonnet type hat.
AIBU to suggest that this woman isn't dead, isn't a ghost and is an odd lady with a strange fashion sense?
He is quite firm she is a ghost, and walks along the path but not on it though the trees.

personally I am glad we are going on holiday soon my hubby really needs it asap.
Then again AIBU?

I’ve seen a ghost too. I love a good creepy thread 😬

StarUtopia · 16/07/2018 22:25

I've seen two.

Matutinal · 16/07/2018 22:25

Go with him and point out that it's a local eccentric with odd headgear.

Eminybob · 16/07/2018 22:26

It was just a lady in a hat. There are no such things as ghosts

lowresidue · 16/07/2018 22:27

I agree, a woman who found a hat she loves and wears it continually.
but hubby said why is she walking around at the different times and days he goes, why would he see her so often?

Does the dog react? Aren't animals meant to be very sensitive to that sort of thing?
I'd say if the dog doesn't sense it and nobody else has ever seen it then it might be time for your husband to lay off the Buckfast - or at least don't mix it with the Double Strength Anadin Grin

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 16/07/2018 22:28

I’ve seen a ghost. Same place as my dc have seen it. They don’t interact, just are apparitions in the same place in my experience.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 16/07/2018 22:29

Dogs aren’t supposed to sense ghosts.

BluthsFrozenBananas · 16/07/2018 22:29

Could be an ultra religious type. There’s some round here where the women wear long skirts and bonnet like head coverings.

Readyfortheschoolhols · 16/07/2018 22:30

A ghost of a little dc is with us here and at our previous houses. Past 25 years at least. Seen twice by me and heard often by lots of us!

lowresidue · 16/07/2018 22:31

our dog is far too dim to notice much bless him. he is a big dog that gets frightened of little dogs that growl etc. in other words a big wimp.

Is your husband prone to this sort of thing or is this a first?

Gileswithachainsaw · 16/07/2018 22:31

I've seen 2 as well.

Must he hard though I mean if youndont believe in ghosts but your husband isn't a liar you kinda have a bit of a tricky situation there...

IndigoSpritz · 16/07/2018 22:32

'Echoes of the past with unfinished business in the here and now.'
That's unhelpful, I know, but I felt motivated to say it.

lowresidue · 16/07/2018 22:32

this is a first ever woo thing my hubby has ever told me or talked about.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 16/07/2018 22:33

I made the mistake of telling my dh, he doesn’t believe me which is quite gutting about something so huge for me. We don’t talk about it.

Alibobbob · 16/07/2018 22:35

Ghost or a stalker not sure which your hubby should fear more lol.

I think you should go with him next time

lowresidue · 16/07/2018 22:38

I think I will go, hubby thinking she was a ghost because of her wearing a bonnet. Although I do wonder if she will pop up when I am there?
I have been to those woods, but although a bit dark and spooky have been there middle of day and felt nothing strange.

Would a ghost interact with you though? Nod and smile at you?
I don't know, I've never seen one (thankfully), and I don't know anyone who has. Unless they just don't talk about it in case their not believed. Weird though.
Think you might have to go on a few of these dog walks, so you can report back here what you witnessed!

TheGlitterFairy · 16/07/2018 22:43

We had a ghost that would walk past a window (outside) in the house I grew up in, in similar clothing. She was friendly; others in the house saw her at different times. The cat also knew when she was around too. I saw her a few times. I’ve also been aware of another “presence” in different houses too over the years. Sometimes it’s not scary at all - and other times gives me a chill!!
Home alone now and wishing is not started thinking about it!! Shock

TheGlitterFairy · 16/07/2018 22:43

*I’d!!

Oldaintallthat · 16/07/2018 22:44

Thats fair funny. He's doing exactly the same to her. Saying that, I really hope it is a creepy ghost story.

Ghosts do not exist.

Have you told him he should poke her in the head next time and see if he's real or not?

DearMrDilkington · 16/07/2018 22:46

It's probably a meet-up place for fetish folk.

ShatnersBassoon · 16/07/2018 22:47

She's more likely to be a living Amish or Quaker woman than a ghost, no matter where in the world you're living.
The other explanation is that your husband is looking for a bit of attention.
