first my plans for works on the house get borrowed................see an earlier moan on aibu.

Now DP has just rung to say a suit for next door has been delivered, and he can see that it is exactly the same as the one i bought for DS's holy communion. I showed my neighbour DS's suit a few weeks ago. She's gone and bought the same for her DS's holy communion. They are both making their communion on the same day in the same church at the same time ................aaaaarrrgghhhhhhhhh.

stop hughjars...............youe making me nervous.

I said to her.........do you know DS has exactly this suit for his HC, whats yours for..............

ummed and arrrrrd for a bit, and said but it was really hard to find one and anyway the church have said they can wear what they want........and i really wanted to put him in 3/4 pants >

anyway, i jokingly said dont let him stand by DS when they do the group photos or they will look like little and large (although they are the same age DS is about 3 inches taller).. well we are still speaking and i think i may have got my point across AS tactfully as i could.

Will just remember in future, eat all receipts for new clothes and paint our windows black

that would really annoy me, can you say something to her in a jokey sort of way that you charge for personal shopper services or be sarcastic and suggest when you go shopping you will buy two of everything in case she wants the same

Thanks SIA,( what a dipstick I am!)

BTW, much like you , I still can't face the embarassing confrontations and have taken to DT's approach of just not showing/ telling her about anything.

I feel really guilty sometimes but if I let my guard down even slightly she exploits it and I am reminded that she is, in fact, still a psycho... If you find a good way of dealing with it I'd love to know.

(Quite why anyone would want to imitate me is a complete mystery to me and probably all MNers too...)

aww twigg you would do that for me {{{overwhelmed}}}

I think i will take the "you know DS has exactly the same suit as your DS" approach and see where that leads us........

Oh btw..........mild panic, just checked the delivery contents and the suit pants are missing!!!! I am innocent honest >

she is odd - that kind of behaviour is odd.

Stop telling her or showing her ANYTHING (or if you are wicked find a really awful picture of a dress adn say that you are wearing it for the service and see if she turns up wearing the same )

SIA, you have my total sympathy, I could've written the OP, my 'friend' started buying the same clothes as me (as well as matching her DS to my DS, changed her style from business chic (sp?) to Boho) , and even had a tattoo 'because [I] had one'...at least that's the reason she gave a mutual friend for having it done
I tell you, there are some psychos about...

she's a freak isn't she

I think you'd be well within your rights to say its exactly the same suit you showed her that your DS was wearing and she'd probably forgotten but that you feel really uncomfortable and would be grateful if she could change it

Sorry havent replied sooner but someone swore on the thread nad that meant i couldnt open it in work...............

I will think up a cunning plan.

It took me ages to find a suit that i actually liked, little boys in suits doesnt really appeal, and i didnt want it to be too formal, should never have showed it to her.

I agree with Maureen - I think you can have some fun here!!
Show her all manner of hideous stuff and see if she copies you. She will soon suss out that you are aware she copies you, and stop out of sheer embarassement. Problem solved, no need to ever say a word!
