I thought I had a surprise birthday party for my 30th. My LO was only 3 mo and DH was away on a 6 week course during the week. My mum asked me to go to a 90th birthday party with her (it was one of her customers). I said yes because, in my mind, they were planning this party for me. I didn't want to be difficult and went along with their "surprise" plans. I got there and..... It *was* a 90th birthday party, so I thought "maybe they're getting me out of the way and they've got a surprise at home" We went home and..... Nothing Why, oh why, did my mum think it would be FUN to attend a 90th birthday party on my 30th birthday? Anyone who knows me in RL will be able to identify me by this story as I have been moaning about it for the last 2 years! It's quite funny looking back on it now.... If I'd have known I would have arranged a meal out, but my b'day is near Xmas I wouldn't have got a table at the last minute. Sorry - someone else was talking about their 30th. Mine's memorable for the wrong reasons! I hope this amuses rather than makes you think I am an ungrateful cow
