AIBU?

AIBU to send the cleaner home?

Got home with DD, 9 months, to find our lovely cleaner part way through a clean. She stopped for a quick chat and said she was lucky she made it as she'd been off sick yesterday with a stomach bug and was still feeling a bit dodgy this morning!

I told her she was welcome to take the money for today but I'd rather she didn't finish the clean as I was worried she might pass it on. I think she thought I was nuts as she said she was feeling fine now, but she did leave and has said she'd clean at a bit of a discount next week.

Am I worrying about nothing? I'm going to have to spend my evening dettoling everything she might have touched, aren't I?

YANBU I'd have sent her home too and probably beached the rooms she cleaned. But I am emetophobic so prepared to be told that's OTT.

Hope you and LO don't catch the bug. I'd be inclined to have a chat with her about sickness and ask her to let you know in future if she's been that ill.

Most adults don't follow the 48 hour rule. plenty don't even with children because adults should have better hygiene then children plus many can't afford to miss work

I hate when people at work announce they have a stomach bug and they've dragged themselves in regardless to share it with everyone else. So in your situation I probably would've done the same as you but I'm more paranoid than most about vomit so it may not be reasonable. But you paid her anyway so not UNreasonable either

Yes PFB, although I really don't want the germs for myself either!
