Rant alert!

I've noticed a few threads on here with people saying the body shop is just not the same as it once was.

Every time I really like a product they discontinue it, like the lip balm I liked then the Brazil nut scrub and now big satsuma shower gels!

I know I'm not alone as others have said the same. The cherry on the cake came today. Last week I went to the body shop to purchase a big bottle of their satsuma shower gel (which I bloody love) to be told they didn't have satsuma in big anymore just the (overpriced) small ones. I went home and ordered it online. I received an email today saying they no longer stock the satsuma in large sizes and sorry for the inconvenience. They are going to discontinue it aren't they?

AIBU to just think the body shop is all going to shit? Should I even bother anymore? Grin

I wouldn’t class it as a zombie as they’d still crap. 😁

Oh no! Fell for a zombie. I'm usually so careful...

The only thing I ever buy there now is the body butter and that's only when it's on offer because it's stupidly expensive otherwise for what it is.
Agree with being followed around the shop and pestered too. Drives me mad.

Does anyone remember the coconut hair gel?! Back in the black lidded pot days - I used it on my spiky Smiths-esque quiff in the late 80s and never went there again when they discontinued it.

Also went to get dressed and my basket had emptied online which was so annoying

I have ordered some products with their 40% sale but a lot of regular products were out of stock like rainforest shampoo and their expensive night cream was not discontinued.

Is it any good?

On their website they did not test on animals?

Remember when they refilled and used to like their pineapple face wash.
With the plastic crisis it would be good if they restarted this service.

I like their shower gels.

Who else has body shop ads all over this page?!

Anyway, I genuinely thought it was a teenage shop. The fragrances are all sickly sweet children’s smells I meant you can’t compare L’Occitane with Body Shop!

Bath pearls. Omg I’d forgotten their very existence.

I want to buy stuff from there but I think it's a nostalgia thing for raspberry ripple, green apple, etc from when I was at school. I remember everyone seemed to have one of the lip balms in their blazer pocket (mine was strawberry)!

It's never been the same...I really miss the old Body Shop, Passion fruit cleansing gel, Japanese washing grains and carrot mosituriser to name a few...what were they thinking? I used to go in there every week, not now though, I can't remember the last time I went in.

I haven't been in one for years but used to go loads in the 80s- and it must have been cheap as I was not well off and bought a fair bit at a time.
Coconut shampoo and banana conditioner, a pineapple cream type face wash, all their transparent fruity soaps, oceanus perfume and one beginning with A? The name has gone. Never so keen on Dewberry or white musk but used to have a good sniff at the fuzzy peach. Loved the lipbalms. Used go all greasy with the body butters. Don't remember being followed about and I would browse and linger...

Totally agree ladies. Loved the dewberry range, why did they have to discontinue it. They tried to bring it back with the blueberry fragrance which is very close then discontinued that as well lol ..... I think some of the products are over priced still my self. We have an outlet body shop near me so I grab as many items as I can discounted from there but u have to be careful as an awful lot of there stock is close to being out of date. That's why they are soooo cheap. So ur not really getting great bargains are u 😂😂😂

I am 'one of those ladies' and we sell different things to stores - often at greatly reduced prices.
jofrey I can order the elderflower eye gel for you, although I highly recommend the Drops of youth eyeball roller.

I know we have an offer for the large shower gels, I can check and see if I can get Satsuma for you number as for brazil nut, nope, its gone, but we have coconut scrub, shea scrub and lots more.

Haven't bought Body Shop products for years - it seemed hypocritical for a cruelty-free brand to be sold to L'Oreal, one of the worst offenders for animal testing. People thought they were buying cruelty-free but the money ended up in L'Oreal's pockets! Started to buy a few things again after the Body Shop brand was sold to Natura last year, thereby becoming cruelty-free again. Like another poster said, the brand seems to have lost its way now it's no longer the only cruelty-free option on the high street.

The Body Shop lost the plot quite some time ago IMO. Overpriced and underwhelming now. DD v cheesed off that her favourite Red Musk perfume has disappeared from the face of the Earth.

Dear Body Shop, if you're reading this thread (which I bet you are)
... for crying out loud will you STOP discontinuing product lines and bring out new ones all the sodding time. Oh yeah, and quite with the 'body butter with every gift set' idea. We don't all love the stuff and would sometimes like to buy a set of stuff without the body butter in it.
